Marked one side with a heart and started painting water color paper. I also printed and cut out one of my Zolnixi pairs and taped them together.

Painted the inside.(Water color)

Cut out the heart and painted it. Then I marked where the tree was going to be.

Painted the front of the card and the back side of the heart. I cut out one of my Bulbori pairs.

Painted the tree on the inside of the card.(Acrylic)

I painted flowers on the tree, Petals falling and grass tufts on the inside.(with acrylic) I printed another picture of the Zolnixi pair ( they got water on them and the tape tore it) and glued the Zolnixi pair to the inside and the Bulbori pair to the heart. Then wrote the message on the outside of the card.

Wrote the messages on the inside of the card and on the back of the heart.

So I knew I wanted to do something with a fae but I din't know where I was gonna go with it. This is the first rough sketch.

After that I realized that I haven't....watercolored anything recently so I figured I would go with that! After adjusting her size a little I was on my way to painting.

I added a couple more layers so it wouldn't be so light.

I wanted my design to stand out. So I decided to add some genes. Frosted Flower and Valentines Lace to be precise. She also has Autumn Flower as a mutation....giving me some extra room for detail lol. It took me a little bit but I ended up really liking the design. I wanted to add the vines on her legs but I decided not to to show off the lace more.

I wanted to do a little more with my watercolors. I decided instead of doing a completely different color for the background, I would stick with some of the colors I used to paint the fae. Because I wasn't going to add any details I decide to use a lot more water to make the colors move around more and give the heart a unique look.

Started decorating the the front of the card. Fairly simple design but, isn't the main focus :P

I intially wanted to make a popup card but I wasn't sure how. In the end I was able to add it on, yah!

This is the finished product! Front and back, with added texts. The front says, "Hey you...." and the back has, "Let your colors show! XOXO"

I really enjoyed making this card. I haven't painted anything in a while and it was really relaxing. I think I may try and start to paint regularly again ^^

Edit: The marker looks a bit translucent, but I'm pretty sure it's just the lighting. For some odd reason, my iPad can't seem to realize the fact that there is a lamp right beside it -.-

Oh my goodness! I was working pretty much down to the wire as IRL I ended up far busier that I had thought I was going to be.

That said I'm still pretty happy with the result of my project.

Please note that this project is done from the perspective of one of my female Nephs(My Eventide Beach gal) to her girlfriend my Unicorn Passiflora Qitari, so it's got nephini toe prints on the card(as she used her toes to paint with and found colored pencils very hard to use[she managed though]), and yes her "E"s are backwards...she didn't want me to help with it, lol). Anyhow I over all thought this interpretation while being a bit literal was also a cute spin on the base idea(especially seeing as I had to go with this my back up idea).

Without further ado here's my project:

That should be every thing. ^.^ I had lots of fun working on this project.

Oh and for anyone curious as to the gals mentioned in this post here they are:

Qit Gal:

And

Eventide Gal:

Thanks so much and I hope everyone has fun and enjoys the entries!

Good luck everyone!!!
