Just wanted to comment really quick, since there seems to be a lot of speculation in this thread and the other one, what exactly Nyte's are/or based off of. When Vella and I were creating/brainstorming this breed, we were specifically going for an owl and dragon hybrid. :)

The head on the female (especially the chick)'s face looks very squashed. Like, if an anvil fell on her head. Not sure if that's just because it's not lined yet, etc. Just my two cents.

xD Oh wow, that was fast~ Splendid job though, incredible improvements all over the place! I'm super digging the feathers. The shapes on the tail all look nice and I LOVE love love the way the feathers are drawn near all the feet of the adults! I wasn't sure how the male's tail would look if you guys decided to maintain that position, but it definitely exceeded what I was capable of imagining at the time~ The hatchlings are both incredibly precious!

The only thing I would definitely suggest changing at this point are the faces on the adults. They still have beards~ I did a quick gif comparison to see how they'd look with a different face shape:

Edit: Ooooh I just now saw Scath's edited post with a lot of fantastic input and edits. xD My post is kind of redundant now~ I especially like the bits about the direction of the feathers around the beaks on the adults. The point about the female's tail is really good too! I didn't really realize how it feels kind of unnatural to see the tail held up like that.

I would agree to the "no beards" pledge - I think the beard is part of why I dont like Nytekries very much. Lowering the female tail, as is public demand, would sure make her look better and make it easier to distinguish her pose at a quick glance.
Otherwise, i must say that the overhaul seems very likely to make me like the species more!

I love everything about these new designs, however...Copeh's gif comparison is a great idea. Lifting the 'beard' looks great :)

Oh my gosh yess!! For the baby female Nytekrie, could you add a hint at the back legs, though?

no, no, your gif is real nice, I like it.

Also, the mention from Faiona that they're meant to be like owl/dragon hybrids is kinda wild to me, because now I'm having flashbacks to my pre-ny'vene-revamp theory that venes and nytes were related (because of the similarities in how I perceived their wing structures)(then the venes got revamped to have regular ol' bat/dragon wings instead of the same sort of 2 thumb setup and I was .`^. )

anyway, I now have an urge to introduce everyone to some members of the Ninox genus of owls.
We included photos of one kind of hawk-owl in our original post in this thread, the barking owl, but let's look at some more of the kind of bird nytes remind us of (because people keep saying nytes look like turkeys and it always makes me go '???'... is it because of the position of the male nytes back? That's literally the only similarity I can see at all)

What I am trying to show with these (other than Neat Owls) is how they have a completely different kind of 'dish' to owls like barn owls and barred owls and great grey owls. Those kinds of owl have a much stiffer 'dish' that basically forms a complete ring around their faces.
Meanwhile, the softer edge that the Ninox genus owls have to their face masks is what I see in the current nyte's faces (and the Lack Of Beard)
