Extinct Plant: Araucarioxylon arizonicum
Date: In the Triassic period
Coloring: The petrified wood of this tree is frequently referred to as "Rainbow wood" because of the large variety of colors some specimens exhibit. The red and yellow are produced by large particulate forms of iron oxide, the yellow being limonite and the red being hematite. The purple hue comes from extremely fine spherules of hematite distributed throughout the quartz matrix, and not from manganese, as has sometimes been suggested.

Plant: Rio de Janeiro myrtle
Date: 1853
Coloring: Little is known about this plant other then it was a tree, in the myrtle family as the name implied. It had dark green leaves and deep brown stalks. It died out due to humans messing with it. It likely had pink, red, or purple flowers like its living relatives do.

Plant: Cnidoscolus fragrans
Date: Around 150 years ago
Coloring: It was a shub that could get up around 2.5m high and had dark green leaves and brown spindly branches. It was not known to have flowers. It might have had white bristly 'hairs' for pollen.

I might opt out. I was camping the past 2 days and was painting too. I've kinda run out of inspiration and I'm tired. Sorry for the inconvenience.
