The parcel is tied with a knot in twine, which comes apart easily with the lightest tug. Whatever's inside is mostly rectangular with a few bumps, and just as you begin to unwrap the pale grey paper, a small charm slides out and drops into your hand. There's a small loop at the top, possibly for attaching it to a bracelet or something of the sort, though it's not connected to any such thing at the moment. It's somewhat heavy and cool, looking and feeling as though it's made out of metal, but you don't feel the burning, itchy sensation that you normally do when you touch metal--so perhaps it's not, or just not pure.

There's three other things in the parcel, you discover after unwrapping it fully: two other small packages, each wrapped individually--one in blue, the other in pink--and a note. The paper that the note's written on is rather crinkled, as if it's been crumpled up and smoothed out multiple times, but it's not folded, so you can read it easily.

Dear Traveler, it reads in an elegant script,
I apologize that I wasn't able tell you this in person--I trust that my dear partner will ensure that this finds you instead. Please do show this letter to her as well (the other side of it, that is, though she may also read this side if she wants) and give her my sincerest apologies as well for not properly informing her before I departed.

As for the request I wanted to make of you, it's quite simple: I need these two packages delivered. It's their recipients who may pose more of a complication. The first goes by the name of Ai, and can be found in the town of Erran--if you're not familiar with, it's about a few days' journey east of here--and should be given the blue package. My partner can tell you more about the second--she'll know who I'm talking about (if she refuses, tell her I'll get her a new grimoire when I come back)--last I heard, they had been sighted in the woods near the Black Lake.

You are not to let either of them know that it was I who sent you to give them these--but you must find a way to leave each one in their possession one way or another.

Your reward will be 10 gold coins, or three favours from me; you may choose whichever you prefer or negotiate for something different if you wish, though I will accept a negotiation only if I believe the task has been satisfactorily completed.

I may have more information to provide to you at a later time if things develop in such a way--that is, if you choose to accept the task. It should not be too dangerous, but it will be tricky. Should you come into any danger, I will certainly offer you compensation. If you do not wish to take this up, then you may simply leave this and be on your way without concerns.

Either way, best of fortune on your travels, and don't forget to ring the gate bell before you depart.

The last sentence makes sense, at least--the western road heading out of town is presided over by a small, unlocked gate with a bell hanging over it. It's said that ringing the bell on your way past is good luck, ensuring safe travels and fair weather until another person comes along to ring it.
But other than that, there's no signature, and neither an explanation for the cat charm nor one for his absence. And, particularly oddly, the other side of the paper seems to have nothing at all written on it.

The girl, whom in the meantime has been idly flipping a coin from finger to finger and trying not to look too interested, looks up at you once you're done reading. "So, care to share anything?"
w

Livvy shows her the letter. "I think I'm headed to Erran," she chuckles. "So, know anything about person of interest number 2?" She figures there's probably some magic or something involved in the other side of the letter, handy to keep peeping toms from reading private business.

Seeing as she hasn't died from metal exposure, she figures she can probably ask for (or buy) something to hang the charm on. It's probably some kind of thing so Catboy can make sure she's not running off with his packages or something. Or maybe just one of those things people bought at gift shops, to show it was actually him. Either way it's cute. She figures hanging it on a necklace would work well enough seeing as it might be a giveaway to whoever she has to deliver this to if it's just hanging out on her wrist in the open.

(No worries! It's the same here tbh lol)

There's not much to cover you as you sneak closer to them, though fortunately for you your keen hearing allows you to hear them better without having to draw too near. It sounds as though they're having an argument of some sort?
"--tried to catch it, and look where that got me," the one closer to the lamp hisses.
The other waves their hand dismissively. "Phoenix bark'll heal that up fine. The problem is you let it get away."
"It's not my fault the charm didn't work. I'm not getting anywhere near that thing again. Good luck finding someone else to go after it for you--everyone knows that place's been cursed since last spring."
With that, the first figure storms off down the street, leaving the remaining one alone beside the lamp. As you watch, they grumble something to themself and pull something that glints from within their cloak, glancing briefly at it and then back up as if waiting for something.

Well. That was. . . interesting to say the least. Freya thought about approaching the one who had stayed behind for a minute when she remembered that the lady wanted her to stay in the same place. But she also wanted to know about what interesting things the townspeople could be talking about. Praying that the person would stay there for a while, she wanted to wait for the lady to get back before deciding what to do. She didnt want to end up on the other end of her sword, after all.

Sounds good!

Just a few more things:
- You didn't specify which creature she can shapeshift into :P
- You only get one neutral trait
- The "Biggest Flaw" section refers to personality/character flaws, not flaws in ability--the limitations/strengths of your abilities are determined by me and depend on your level of mastery in the ability (plus the drawback you chose would be only natural hehe)

Sorry for all the trouble ^^" After this, I'll be good to start you off!

It's hard to find even a single empty corner here in the center of town--in fact, it's all you can do just to avoid being knocked over several times as a growing amount of people flood the square, rushing about to prepare for the traders or find their own spot out of the rain. At least it seems that the busier the square gets, the less attention is focused on you, as everyone is too busy with their own worries to notice you. Finally, you manage to duck into a small side alley where only one or two people are setting up shop, and from there you watch as the first wagons enter the town center, arriving from the same road you did.
A ripple of excitement spreads through the crowd, cheers rising above the din and patter of rain as a few town officials and senior craftsmen emerge from the chaos to exchange greetings with the traders and direct them to inns where they can briefly unload their wagons and get settled before returning to trade in a few minutes. As the crowd parts to make way for them, you hear more whispers, but not about you--this time, the talk has turned to the traders and what they may bring. As the vendors hurry to put the last touches on their stalls before the traders return, you catch all sorts of rumors--that over a hundred traders will be arriving throughout the day, that the goods they're bringing come from across not only the land but also the sea, and that today is certain to be the most exciting trading day Hanne has seen in quite awhile.

"Oh, are you certain?" she asks, reaching down to untangle her awning. "I do accept trades for favors, too, after all. Hm, how about if you do a good job, I'll consider it a good enough favor to give you something for free? It does seem like a pity that you don't have any money--ah!"
With a great yank, the awning suddenly comes free from the pole it's stuck on, causing the vendor to stumble backward and crash into her cart, nearly knocking it down too. Whatever's in there, it makes a metallic jangling noise as it's jostled.

I wait until the others in this alley set up their shops, acting as if I am busy once again so I could take a glance at what they are selling before moving on to one of the more less-busy shops outside of the alley. I couldn't help but think about what is across the sea, land I hadn't discovered, lakes I haven't studied day in and day out. It was intimating to think about it, how the world is so large and how little I have seen.

Calden was about to agree with the arrangement until the awning suddenly came off and she fell onto her cart. Unfortunately he hadn't been quick enough to do anything besides have an alarmed expression. What was wrong with him... He extended his hand out to her.
"Are you okay?"

(Ayy, dw about it, it's perfect :D)

There's a bit of hunger gnawing at you, though it's not to a distracting degree--as it was, you hadn't noticed too much until you thought about it, so you can probably afford to ignore it a bit longer. Your mouth is quite dry, though, so it looks like you'll have to find some water soon. Unfortunately, your flask is empty--indeed, it's quite nearly the only thing that isn't wet at the moment, seeing as even the apples are, tragically, also somewhat damp. At least the water dripping looks clear enough (and it's rainwater, so probably fresh), though that could well be a deceiving appearance considering the state of this place.

The sun is pleasantly warm against your damp skin and clothes, though its effect is diluted a bit by a cool breeze blowing in through the gaps in the shack's walls. It seems like today's weather is shaping up to be mild after last night's rain. Before long, you and your clothes feel a little drier, if not a bit stiff. It is unlikely that you'll be discovered now if you've made it through the night, but the less than stellar quality of this place isn't doing much for any extra security. Plus, if you head out sooner rather than later, you'll be able to get farther away from here by the time night falls.

(A Whimsy shadow stalker... I see what's going on here, lol. Very nice thanks, it looks pretty good :P
I don't know what else to give out but prismatic philters lol
Yaay, I managed to reply before the year is out xD Happy new year when it comes)

He considers his position for a moment as he stands in the sun, coming to a decision. Alright... I don't want to spend any longer in here than necessary. I'll find water somewhere else where the quality is more reliable before I leave town.

A little drier is dry enough, since the day is mild there shouldn't be a significant problem. He can just deal with any lingering discomfort - it's time to move.

He makes sure he's put everything back in his satchel before heading for whichever door leads out to the main street. Back to the doorframe, holding himself in shadows as best he can, first he surveys the world beyond this temporary sanctuary. He's looking for any signs of immediate danger before he moves out. Meanwhile, he's coming up with a plan of action.

Falcon has never travelled much further than the town outskirts. He needs to think ahead before he guilelessly strolls out into unfamiliar territory. He tries to recall anything he might already know about the world outside Ravyne - the land, common routes of travel, wild animals and beasts that might pose a threat to him, and most importantly: destinations he can feasibly walk to. The journey could be a long one; he'll need to be sure he has the supplies to make it.

Though depending on how dangerous it might be, there's no reason I need to go alone, he ponders. Do bands of people travel together? There are frequent visitors to Ravyne, maybe they move in parties. Perhaps I could briefly join one in order to gain protection, with the benefit that - not being locals - there's less chance I'll be running into someone I've dealt with in the past.

On the other hand, he does remember tales of the Uncharted - and considering he has no care for the great body of water that is the sea, eastwards appeals to him. Not that he's deciding to give up civilisation, no - his goal is to find another settlement where he's surrounded by people, not wilderness. But the further east he got, surely the more stories and information he would pick up from others who made such explorations into the unknown?

For now, he'll head for a part of town that might help him with his goals, if this is shaping up to be more complicated than just walking out of Ravyne right now. Somewhere he can overhear anything of note for travelling, perhaps see a map if he really hasn't got a clue for where to go. The most preferable option would be if there are areas or inns where other travellers frequent. On the way he'll keep an eye out for somewhere to refill his flask. It would be best if he kept to busier parts of town, where he'll hopefully be able to hide amongst the crowd. That, and the members of the group he's made an enemy of will be less likely to grab him in broad daylight. At least, that's what he's betting on.

The apothecary girl takes the letter from you, flipping it over the moment she's taken a glance at the front side. It still doesn't look like there's anything on it to you, but she reads it and smiles slightly--for a minute, at least, before her expression turns disbelieving and then vexed. Without even going back to read the front side, she furiously shoves the letter back into your hands and pushes the packages to the other side of the desk.

"Throw that away," she demands, nodding at the letter, "Or burn it, and don't do this. I can't believe he's being so ridiculous, it's too dangerous--" she breaks off, looking unsure whether to be distressed or aggravated. Stepping briskly around you, she goes over to the front door and locks it. "Whatever he's paying you," she says, folding her arms as she leans back on the door to face you, "I'll pay you more to tell him you're declining it and forget about it. You can leave everything else here and I'll take care of it."
