Hello!

This year I decided to carve a wolf-themed pumpkin, in honor of the blue moon this Halloween!!

First, I made a sketch

Here's the pumpkin:

I cut out the sketch and traced around it with a Sharpie. Then, I gutted the pumpkin. I then cut around the outside of the wolf with a pumpkin knife thing. I used a bowl to trace a rough outline of the circle/moon around it. After I took this picture I then cut that into a few pieces to keep it from breaking the wolf, and removed all the pieces. Then I used a scraping tool to add the details of his fur, eye, nose, and ear.

Just for fun I tried to carve a dog out of one of the pieces I cut out. I messed it up and decided to carve a little wolf skull out of it instead (I'll try to upload a better picture of the finished skull later)

And voila! (I'm going to get a picture of it lit up later as well)

(the skull looks really bad in this last picture and I apologize)

I based my carving off of a sketch I did a few months back of a sleeping dragon. This was actually my first attempt at a more 3-D type carving, rather than the traditional kind that you would light up, and while Im pleased with how it turned out it was a lot more difficult than Id anticipated!

I got the pumpkin ready and did an awful job trying to get the sketch copied over with a pen that did not want to cooperate.

First I worked at taking off the top layer of skin

Slowly the little dragon is starting to come together

Finally finished!

Here's mine!

Very tall pumpkin... I should have picked sooner instead of waiting XD

Drew my picture and taped it on!

Poking the holes through onto the pumpkin

I used a pen so I could see the details better. It helped.

Unlit finished product

Lit and done! (Some dry ice in a 'cauldron' for cool photo effects)

The fire was really hard to do and when drawing it I tried like a dozen different styles. I had to sacrifice some detail, but overall I'm really proud with what came out!

I didn't have access to a pumpkin this year! Halloween isn't something widely celebrated where I live, so I decided to carve a capsicum!

The capsicum was harder to carve than expected, also I couldn't carve as much as it still needed to be usable for my cooking ^^
