Since this is my first time carving an apple, I decided to do something simple; a Ryo holding a lollipop.
(Though the lollipop didnt happen because it was too small)

A plastic knife should work fine :b
Sketched the design on & carved from there.
Pretty much done here, just need to clean it off.
Removed the orb because it didnt look right imo. (It also fell off during the clean up...)

This may be a dumb question, but does the carving have to be sylestia related or can it be anything?

It does not have to be Sylestia related. Although, we generally award more judging "points" for Sylestia related submissions.

This is not a very complex pumpkin carving, but I wanted to share my pumpkin that I did with my friends today for the contest
We got them pumpkins (the smaller one was supposed to be carved as well but was unfortunately rotten)
Insides are all carved out, and the face is on
Front view of the carved face along with little pumpkin ears made from scraps held in with toothpicks
The final result! We took a photo shoot with our other two friends (they carved pumpkins but weren't cool enough to wear them so they were ghosts) and this is one of the pictures. Yes, me (in hoodie and skirt) and my friend (in jeans) did put the pumpkins on our heads with nothing between and yes we did wash our hair

haha thank you! Thankfully we did a good job cleaning them out or else we'd have a lot of stringy pumpkin guts left in our hair XD
