Harbinger of Light

Each spring we celebrate a renewal of light and life. An abundance of joy brought by the return of long days spent in the sun. Nights spent capturing fireflies in glass jars. Watching over such joy-filled fun is the Harbinger
of Light. A mischievous spirit sent each year to add sparkles to children's eyes and bring light to dark corners. Always seen with a puckish smile on their face and a twinkle in their eye.

Spring Neko Kami

The Neko Kami is the caretaker of all pointy-eared sylesties. Her and her companion appear in spring to bless all of the creatures found to be good and kind. Some Sylesties even leave offerings at the bottom of flowering trees in the hopes that they will be blessed with good fortune, twins, and good health.

"Ok, I have alot to explain so you'll have to sit down for this-"

"Really? Just sit down? You were the one who gave Arcane his powers, making him be able to burn Umbra and making my old pack be against sylesties having magic! I think I need to lie down for this!"

"Alright! Alright! Just listen to what I have to say!"

HOOO OKAY
MORE LORE FOR MY FANFIC

So basically, this is Meredith. She was a fairy living the Umbra Forest some centuries ago. Her kind was very proficient in making plants grow and are responsible for helping spring come in Umbra Forest (of Spring still comes naturally but HEY, THESE FLOWERS AREN'T GONNA SPROUT THEMSELVES). She was very skilled in talking to sylesties. Mostly Morkkos and Faelora but, she was decent in all others.

Anyways, one fateful day in spring she was messing around with spells she found from stealing borrowing a book from her mother, she miss-fired a magically charged beam to make a plant grow or something when she got distracted by a butterfly. Thinking nothing of it she continues on doing some magic stuff. bUT JUST TWO YEARS LATER, UMBRA FOREST IS SET ON FIRE. The faires are very confused and scared so they look for the cause of the fire. They find out that a purple vulynx *Cough cough* Arcane *cough cough* is the cause of the arson. They also find out that Meredith had (accidentally but they don't know that) cast the spell to make the vulynx magic from a helpful faelora. So, both Meredith and the vulynxes souls were locked away into stones so they wouldn't cause anymore havoc.

Several centuries later she is released from stone and now has to contemplate how much troubles she's caused.

Faded Flowers

"Is this the end?" The woman asked herself, a shallow cough falling from her lips, her hands trembling as tears clouded her eyes.
"It can't be, it can't be the end yet..."

For months, the woman had noticed something was wrong but had ignored it in fear of what it may be. She was a Spring Fairy, one that had lived many years. She had helped flowers bloom, plants grow, and animals be born safely into the world. She wielded a scepter that she used to help quicken the blooming of flowers and growing of plants when she knew that the animals, humans, and insects were in desperate need of them, needing them sooner rather than later. Every fairy was given such a scepter.

It had all started when her hair; once a bright red, had begun to fade, eventually graying out entirely, a shade of an unsettling green falling over the long locks. She attempted to brush it off, knowing that she was starting to grow older, but certainly, she wasn't that old yet. It couldn't be that time for her, not yet.

Then her skin... It began to feel dry. Once a vibrant tan, it as well became a similar shade to her hair. Wrinkles began to deeply furrow into her skin, the flesh becoming cracked, it felt dreadful to her. No matter how many remedies she applied to her skin, it didn't gain back any hydration, it just continued to dry up and turn an off grayish-green, the flesh becoming like that of a corpse, growing quite gaunt similarly. She was certain that she had just fallen ill though, that things would soon be amended, that she'd eventually feel okay again, it'd just take some time.

She started to struggle to deny that something was truly wrong, far more so than just a common sickness that afflicted fairies such as herself. This realization came when the clothing that she'd been assigned based on the type of fairy she was born as, began to fade from the vibrant greens, pinks, blues, and the many other shades it had once been. Like her skin, like her hair, her clothing became this drained and dull coloration, the vibrant greens she once loved now these dark and dulled ones. Even then, she was still sure she'd be okay, the one thing she had left that proved as much still remained, it still held the powers that kept her alive.

That leads us back to the current time, the day she'd breathe her final breath.

Letting out a sob, the woman vehemently thrust her scepter forwards toward a flower that had yet to bloom, her hands trembling as tears streamed down her face.
"Bloom! Come on, you must bloom!" She exclaimed, her bottom lip quivering as she let out an agonized yelp.

The scepter she had wielded for so many years, the scepter that had never failed her before, it did not a thing. The red tip that was usually always alight with magic, flickered on and off, finally going out and remaining darkened.

Feeling a sharp pain flutter through her chest, her grip on the scepter faltered, allowing it to fall to the ground.

Wincing, she grabbed her chest as another sharp pain coursed through, this time stronger than the last. Gasping, she attempted to reach out, grasp at the flower she'd been trying to make bloom, only to fall to her knees.

Just as her fingers grasped that flower, she felt her body give out, her vision going black as she fell forward, the last thing seen on her face as she fell being an agonized expression before her body hit the ground with a thump, followed by a flurry of dust.

"It is the end." The wind seemed to howl as if the fairy had spoken these words to herself just as she perished as if she had become one with the wind in her final moments.

Her magic had run out, and today was the day she turned into nothing more than a pile of dust that would be blown away by the wind.

Though as one took a closer look, the last flower she had ever grasped had finally bloomed. The last of her magic had filled the flower. A piece of her that would remain until the flower eventually wilted, but even then, more flowers would grow. For all life would end one day, but the beauty left behind by those the life touched remained. She was dead, but the beauty of her heart and soul remained.

Suddenly, there is an explosion of light and color from a pinpoint in the air in front of you and then there is a haggard woman standing before you, a look of desperation on her face and worn tatters throughout her fading colorful clothes.
"Quickly, there's not much time, please listen to me! I've come from the future using this mystical dandelion to stop something horrible from happening, the crux of which is going to happen very soon in your time. It only works during the Spring Festival and I don't have very many tries left because once the dandelion is out of seeds I am out of tries, so please listen and heed my warning! Beware the twentythird egg! Whatever you do, don't-"
She desperately reaches her hand out to you as there is another explosion of light and color and she is gone, a large dandelion seed drifting away on the breeze.

You've heard of the Sandman.
But you likely haven't heard of his predecessor,
the one who truly visits each night to fill the mind with dreams.

Aisling, a being long forgotten,
who gives the sweetest dreams to those who remember her and leave her gifts of chocolates and fall leaves and stones found along rivers and anything from the sea.

Each night, she kisses the brow of the innocent, to bring them dreams which grant them rest and morphs to torment those who must rectify inconsistencies in their subconscious.
Or to pay for the wicked deeds they have done during the day.

Her other form takes many shapes,
but those few who have seen it claim it is terrible to behold, in any iteration.

But fear not,
tormented dreams could simply mean you're morphing, like she, into something entirely new and different.

Those nuances can be a bit tricky for mortals to comprehend.

However, if you find yourself longing for deep, contented sleep, whether you have suffered from insomnia or dreams which leave you in anguish, Aisling is more than willing to hear your pleas for reprieve, provided you come before her with pure heart - and a gift or two in honour of her.

Like all immortals, she can be a bit haughty and enjoys praise.

However, if your heart is not pure, don't expect gifts to sway her.
She is not one who can truly be bought.

the soft night

During the day, when life bursts forth from all places, the earth is happy. The snowmelt rivers fill her infinite well, and she can grow, grow, grow, for all her children to revel in her sweet-smelling splendor.

During the evening, when shadows stretch to cover her, the earth is content. She tucks in her children with birdsong, frogsong, and the songs she herself sings as she watches the sun sink into her cloud covers.

During the night, when silver stars peek at her from above, the earth is at peace. She wraps herself in a gown of petals and mist and settles upon the wind, keeping watch of her children as they sleep, whispering to those who are unhappy: the day may be hard, but the night is soft and I am here. It will be okay.

I hope you like my take on a kind of earth/mother goddess! I only designed an avatar for the "night" section, but the prose felt incomplete without the other two.

Their heart always belonged to the water and all the creatures living in it. So when the winter freeze begins to thaw they too come out of hiding. Overjoyed the water has returned to their grove, they frolic and play, sharing the water with any creature that comes by. Every creature is welcome to their little slice of home.

Long ago there was a princess, so long ago in fact that she can no longer remember her own name. However, she can remember her beloved kingdom and family clearly and she misses them dearly. The princess was as pure and kind as a kingdom could ever hope for in a ruler, her parents were as well, but there was an evil sibling just waiting for his chance at taking over the realm. The princesss parents lie asleep in their bed one night when the Kings brother found a sorceress willing to help him forge his path to the throne.
She isnt quite sure what happened to her family, but she knows from the little her uncle told her that he was behind their disappearance and he even took her prisoner in the dungeons for a while. He was the most fond, if an evil man could be fond of anyone, of her so he couldnt bring himself to harm her. Maybe he knew of her power to communicate with animals, perhaps he just wanted someone around to torment or remind him of something, though shes never been able to figure out what or even why he left her alive or why he talked to her as much as he did. She does however know that he got tired of her crying for both the fate of her family and the kingdom that he was ruining. Shes sure the constant escape attempts didnt help her case, either way he send word to his sorceress to come and finally take care of his niece.
While he didnt want her completely gone, he did want her unable to leave and take the kingdom back over so he had the sorceress make him a portal to some far away island with an enchanted tower and shackles. His niece would only be allowed to travel around the island during spring nights, when the animals would need help tending to their young and it was less likely any strangers would stumble upon her. He granted her immorality for as long as he was immortal, but in her opinion it wasnt a granting but rather a punishment- for what, she doesnt know.
These nights in the soft breeze, talking to and tending the animals on the island were the closest shes gotten to being happy in a long time, but shes had the animals on the lookout for other people since she first got banished here and finally this year may be the end. The purple dragon thats been returning to see her every year has come to her with good news! My queen of the night! There are finally residents on the island, and the dragon helps the animals kind queen come up with a plan. The smaller, more approachable animals would be the backbone of the whole operation while she was locked away during the day, and lured the people towards the tower. She was afraid of seeing another person and feared the plan wouldnt work, but for once in so long the princess has hope that she may be free.
