So.. Yeah, seeing the logs.. day before yesterday was 8,254 gold to feed everyone.. last night it was 20,635 gold. That's about what I make from missions if I do them daily (not utilizing the time and doing them twice a day). And that's not including what I get from the bags, if I do get gold.

I can understand the need for increasing the price, although I greatly enjoy having more gold as at each festival, I tend to literally go broke. Last festival, at one point I had 300 gold. My money does definitely get circulated back.

However, the ramifications of economic expansion / reduction boggle my tiny brain. I haven't really personally felt affected by there being too much gold. I do feel that the value of diamonds has dropped and with the change in PayPal / Diamond shop, I believe they'll continue to decrease in value; that's what I'm concerned about.

As for perks... I think maybe that'll be something that you'll need to implement but obviously keep an eye on and tweak as necessary. I mean, any physical rewards would be neat (philters, equipment, old avatar stuff.) But then again, maybe physical items would benefit from being a reward from a different type of mission. One that has rarer rewards but a large number of possible rewards. (I'm pulling this from the idea of Ventures in FFXIV.. you literally could get anything from worthless trash to very exclusive items).

However, the above would probably be something more fitting for MegaZone or MegaZone release. It just would be more fun than doing the same missions to get the same gold, gear, or potions day in and day out. Maybe it's the cooldown is longer, like 72 hours. Or maybe you have to spend tokens (again taken from FFXIV).

I got off topic. Perks! If you do something like a "Feed everyday for 1 month" I think you definitely need a message from the Stablehand maybe 3 days before they leave, and then the day they leave. Perks I would love to see would be bonuses to breeding (if that's possible. Maybe more chance of traits being passed), to hatchlings --> chance to increase a stat. I don't think that'd be too noticeable or game-breaking: I have like 6 pages of a qitari project. If one or two get a boost, I probably wouldn't even notice but it'd still be nice to know I got something.

Maybe different Stablehands have different bonuses instead of "you've kept your pets fed for 200 days!"
Like:
Minesy, the Breeder-Helper >.>
"Minesy spends time in the hatchery, welcoming new eggs into the world. With a special hug and a kiss, Minesy makes sure the egg is nice and comfy in your hatchery."
-Having Minesy, the Breeder-Helper Stablehand active will not only feed your pets, but eggs have a 2%~ chance of better traits being passed on to the offspring.
(or just a flat increase to chance for traits being passed on at all.)

To sum up:
1) I like my gold and not ever a fan when I have to spend more, but understand the need. Just grateful it won't be the 25g.
2) Perks are a great idea! But if it is based on continuous feeding, need a message from Stablehand prior and upon departure.
3) Small perks like increased stat points for hatchlings, maybe breeding bonuses for traits.
4) Perks from different Stablehands.

Please don't use inappropriate words on the Forums.

And as I said, the 25g is probably going to be reduced and you'll be refunded the difference.

another idea i got while under the shower (yes i get some good idea's sometimes while releaxing under a hot stream of water^^)

how about a stabelhand that lets you feed other people there stabels. so for expemel a friend of mine is going on a holly day or things happen in rl and will there for not be abel to come online. and they ask like he could you feed my pets while i'm away so that when i come back in x time they won't be starving. the price for feeding there pets would go with the same discount as already used for my own pets. and this way a noobie how is not realy understanding everything and has trobel keeping it's pets feed while lvling and having to heal them nonstop (we have all bin there :P ) that noobie could ask someone as well if that person would be willing to feed there pets for some time so that they can save up a bit.

for the person keep other players there pets feed there will be cool rewareds (avi items maby some nice philters?) and it should be in suts way that the player how is not paying to feed there own pets will see how much gold they are saving. (becaus i find it very important that they would see what others spent to keep there pets feed so that they don't take it for granted)

Well, I will say, it was so nice, (and I dont know how long it took me to realize this) to find out you can feed/revive other people's dead pets in order to be able to breed with them. That was awesome to find. I thought for the longest time you couldn't, and its only been a few weeks when I saw you could do it.

On that note, in order to preserve costs, i may have to end up releasing more pets, due to the feeding cost. I havent been able to play much due to health issues, to be able to work on gold, and missions never really have been my style. I liked going out and picking up equipment to sell back to the game more preferably. I can't imagine what those folks are thinking that have over 25 stables to tend to xD

Also, nice work, it really is starting to feel like the MegaZone is coming soon, with all these little changes. Thank you for the updates!

"-An account bonus of some sort for keeping your pets fed for x days in a row"

Totally cool with this. This avoids taking anything away from players who choose to keep most of their pets in suspended animation.

Gold sinks--Pet treats? I'm one of the players who likes to imagine that pets are real. I might buy a treat to give to pets that beat a really difficult boss, or to a pet that just became a teenager, etc.

Also, maybe pet toys? I don't know if the coding would be a nightmare, but I can imagine toys being much more expensive than treats. When you give a pet a toy, that toy appears as an icon on the pet's Profile Page.

This tennis ball is mine . . . but you can play with it too.

There might even be a tiny but nonzero chance every X amount of time that a pet will accidently destroy an old toy, and then you get a PM: "Oops! Calamander has accidently destroyed his Tennis Ball while playing with it." I say an old toy because, if the RNG hates a player, their pet might destroy a toy during the first week, which would just make the player angry. Maybe have toys last a year before there's that tiny chance the pet might break it.

Anyhow, I own 2,776 pets. It would take me a year or more to give each one a toy, LOL!

I guess it is that time again. The time where I have to point out that punishing people for owning more pets, when your entire business model is about making it enticing to spend real money on more pets, is an insanely bad business decision. And yes, it is a punishment. There is no positive to feeding, merely negatives to not doing so. There are no new ways in the game to make gold, only having to spend even more for what we do. [Please do not point to Megazone. It doesn't exist yet. The fact it someday will doesn't help right now.]

In Krin's own words, the greatest site income at the moment is the limited traits. What do you need to have limited traits? More pets. If feeding these more pets becomes a burden, than people are forced to do one of two things. Cease buying these pets (and therefore, cutting into site income), or cease feeding pets. Some people feel uncomfortable not feeding their pets, which effectively puts a cap on how many they can own if they don't want to do that, since the site has quite limited means of earning more gold if you say.. have a life outside of the game, and don't have time to nonstop grind away at Tasks all day.

Can't really afford to feed more pets? Can't really spend money on the site, then, either. Want to take a guess at how many pets frequent spenders on the site probably have? Is it 'Probably a lot'? Is this increase probably bad news for them? I really don't understand why this has to be brought up again, every year or two. Find more meaningful gold sinks, if you are ever so concerned about how much gold is in the site. As previously stated.. you cannot even tell how much of that gold is sitting on inactive accounts. Yet you want to needle at the rest of us over gold that you cannot even flush out of the system, due to inactivity. Those inactive accounts will never change, and any gold on them, is there for good. Why do you not try to get a better statistic going for that before deciding the site needs more gold sinks to begin with?

If I recall, the stable hands, with the cheaper feeding costs were introduced because so many of us did not feed our pets for the sheer cost in gold it became. But oh well, back to not feeding them, I suppose. I will not be wasting extra gold to feed my masses.

I also recall that we were told you planned to make it optional to turn off the greying out of unfed pets as it 'was not your intention' that it would hinder anyone, and it was supposed to 'help people tell pets were hungry or unconscious'. Still planning that someday?

This is just something that's always bugged me, but...
It would be nice if the stablehand gave some kind of notice, say, a day or so before their contract expires? Maybe a popup window that says they have one day left or something?

I always find myself without a stablehand when I'm not expecting it.

Just a suggestion.

Krin if you're going to raise the price to feed pets can you please consider making an option with stable hands to have a choice to include only certain stables and exclude others? It already costs me over 10K every.day to feed my pets with the stable hand.
