Rules

No Reserving Posts

Please do not ping me unless you have a question.

1. Visit the Wardrobe and create your own Summer Themed Character. You can choose any items or styles, even ones that you don't own, and the Character you create can be anything - it does not have to necessarily be 'you'.

2. You must submit exactly 1 image of your design.

A Player Guide on How to Obtain Image URLs

3. You must write a short description or story to go along with your Character.

4. Please do not re-use any previous Avatar Dress Up submissions. You must create a new Character.

5. Please do not steal or use other players' Characters. You must create this Character on your own. Blatant copying of other players' Character will disqualify you from winning and may even ban you from future Forum Games. Please create your own Character.

6. The due date for submitting your entry is by the end of the Summer Festival.

Everyone's submissions will be judged by Krinadon and Faiona where we will select First, Second, and Third place winners based on creativity, effort, and appeal.

Nautica, an ocean goddess lost deep in Atlantis. She is loved by all creatures, and brings life to the reefs

that's all I can think of, I'm not good at story writing ;-;

"Fire and Water"
Two elements collide in a volatile mix, roiling and boiling and churning the depths.

She represents the warmth of summer, be they from the hot summer sun on a day at the beach, a nice fire for which people are roasting marshmallows over, or a barbecue.

Many dark eons ago it is said that strange old ones, residing high within aether above the balcony of the known sea, were spawned, warring with one another until a great omnipotent power came and locked them away, sealing their abilities with its own. But, as those strange eons passed, the power began to weaken, the great old one's magics slipping through cracks and bringing visions of madness, horror, and torment to the people of the Mariana trench.

Now, the true believers have been told, the time is right to awaken the old ones.

As the fissures in the floor align, this cultist and his followers offer their sacrifices, chant dark seances, and prepare for the returning of the old ones, as well as the insanity-inducing end of the world it shall bring.

For clarification, I view this as summer-themed because it acts as a mirroring of HP Lovecraft's horror stories, which mostly revolve around cold and/or the winter. I imagine this would take place during the summer months, probably around the summer solstice, however since these creatures live so deep in the ocean, any indicators they would have of seasons would be vastly different to ours, and are thus not mentioned.

"Seamount"

When lava spews underwater, until the landmass emerges, it is known as a Seamount. A minor sea god is responsible for such. The lava she controls sizzles within the water, becoming solid volcanic rock. One day it will be an island home to gorgeous beaches, a warm climate, and the perfect summer hideaway. For now though, it is simply a small seamount with a small goddess, and slowly the molten lava that encompasses them both turns to solid volcanic rock.

(The edit was of the last sentence. It originally read: "For now though, it is simply a small seamount with a small goddess, and slowly the molten lava that encompasses them both turns solid.")

"rumored" to be the sun goddess, everyone that knows her can't help to feel a radiating warmth and happiness when around her. She is only seen on the most sunniest of days usually on the beach tending to her pet seahorse.

(there were better held items that matched better but had to use the staff for nostalgia reasons. Summer event that year was my first event when joining sylestia and one of my first avatar drops.)

Lurker of the Deep
Less than 20% of the worlds' oceans have been explored. What dangers lie in their murky, sunless depths? Perhaps sailors' tales of sirens and sea monsters do have some merit to them.
Especially tales concerning ancient, forgotten sea dragon deities.

Legend says. In the height of summer. Plunge into the cool water where the full moon shines. If you are lucky. Follow the music and you may find a mysterious bard, clad in vibrant blue, composing a song. It is said, that the bard's music is so emotional, that the spirits of the sea have gathered around the bard playfully dancing. Once the night is over, the bard disappears, like the bard never existed in the first place.
