(Okay then accepted)

You were invited to a contest in a manor for a mystery prize rumored to be the manor and all the money the only catch is that the host's contest is one of investigative skill. The host wants the competitors to solve a century old murder the murder of one Jane Doe. The host has promised he has all the clues from that time: police files, possible murder weapons, acess to the murder scene at Blackwell's Island, the Warden's file, and lastly Nellie Bly's book about the Asylum at the time.

When you arrive something is oviously amiss as the door is wide open, the lights are off, and a smell comes from inside. Worriedly you walk inside the manor you see nothing out of the ordinary aside from a large painting over the fire place of Blackwell's Island. As you walk in deeper you hear music coming from a record player inside the manor. Out of curiousity you follow the music only to discover a grusome sight; the host has been murdered with what looks like a knife.

After you call the police the lead investigator warns you not to leave town as right now the contestants are only a handful of suspects. The lead detective looks at you not totally convinced you didn't do it. After she sees the crime scene and a sneezing fit courtesy of the resident housecat. Mixed with the stench of blood there is another scent much less noticiable but still present, hydrogen peroxide. It's fairly ovious that with this crime and your job that this could be quiet the predicament.

This is what I signed up for in the first place anyways Dessi thought to herself. She started making a mental list of things to do I should go grab some more of my paranormal supplies since there might be a fresh spirit here, and I should try to at least stay the night ONCE to see if I can contact either the jane doe or the most recent victim she was kinda just standing there lost in her thought and mumbling to herself a list, "Lavender,Salt, make sure I bring my EMP measure ..." the list went on

The lead detective glares at you, "No Mr.Tyk was no criminal he was the single biggest donor to the NYPD in history. Who are you and why are you here?"
The other detective glares as well oviously offended by the though of Mr.Tyk being a criminal, "Mr.Tyk would never be involved in criminal activites. Wait are you contestant?"

"Hmm," I say, too distracted by my thoughts. Possible motive? Maybe someone who wanted to indirectly attack the NYPD? Interesting, murders are usually committed by someone you know - if he wasn't involved in any criminal activities, then what other reason would someone have to kill him, and, obviously, who did it?
"Wait, what?" I hurriedly add, realizing I was just asked a question. "Uh, yeah. Yes, I am a contestant. The name's Harvard, I'm a bounty hunter, engineering student, whichever works better for you, though I don't really go by Harvey," I explain, half rambling.

Noting what you're talking about and most likely planning the lead detective glares at you, "No chance missy. You are getting out of here now. Detective Rookie go escort her off the grounds."
Detective Rookie polietly asks you to leave with him so he can make sure you get off the grounds safely. There's a heavy police presence at this point, "Please excuse her she does not like psychics at all. From what I understand she scammed big time after she lost her mother. If you would like I have a map to the sights around town and I'd be more then happy to give it to you."

Detective Jones sighs quietly, "Another one? This is turning out to be a wild west case."
"You're the third bounty hunter to show up in town this week alone," Detective Rookie explains his smile gone, "Let me do you a favor and tell you before you are arrested for tresspassing, disrupting evidence, inhibiting police proceedures, and possibly more this is an NYPD homicide case." It's fairly ovious he's not really fond of you from the words 'bounty hunter'.
"Don't leave town but I have a map of places you can explore in town if you're intrested Mr.Lee," Detective Jones offers him the map.
The map has different places including: museusms, libraries, restraunts, and even more. Though it doesn't have Blackwell's Island on it.
"I'd also suggest you leave Blackwell's Island alone," Detective Jones warns him, "Also I assume you have a lisence for your bounty hunting work."

"Uhh.... okay," I say, taking the map. "I kind of assumed that already. And yeah, I have a license." I don't show it to her unless she asks. "What did the other two show up for? I mean, I haven't really showed up, myself, I've just been here for awhile. Hey, if there's a murderer chasing me, can I leave town, then?" I ask innocently. I note that I never told the detective my last name. Maybe she's pretending not to know me.

"No exceptions period," Detective Rookie answers almost threateningly, "though we can put in protective custody if you're that worried."
Detective Jones gives her partner a warning look before turning back to you, "I don't know nor do I care as long as they don't interfer with the police in the area or cause more trouble."
Detective Rookie walks outside for breath of fresh air as Detective Jones speaks again, "I knew your dad he and I trained together for a while in the force before school. You look alot like him. Tell him I said hi please when you see him again. And leave my partner alone he dislikes bounty hunters if you couldn't tell. His father was one. Now shoo we have work to do."

Where would you like to go from here or would you skip to night and try to sneak back into the manor?

"Oh scamming is normal, but it's not like i'm getting paid to solve this. I'm finishing what I came here to do" she remarked stubbornly. "and that is solve the murder from BEFORE the most recent one" she added "But if i can help with this one that'd be a bonus" she said with a bit of a grin

Detective Rookie shakes his head, "You'd have to go through proper channels for that one and being my boss is meaner then Detective Jones to the point where even the next district fears him, I think it would be waste of time. Here's your map of the area." The map has a few museusms, libraries, restraunts, and even more. Though it doesn't have Blackwell's Island on it. "Hopefully you enjoy visiting this town. Who knows maybe your next clue will appear somewhere. Hey wait a minute didn't Nellie Bly write a book over Blackwell's Island during that time?"

"yeah I think she did, but thanks for the map" she remarked rolling her eyes. As if law enforcement would stop her from figuring out what happened. She was naturally curious and it wasn't like she was getting paid to do this so might as well have fun.
