Raika startles awake, realizing she is sliding across the ground. She yelps with surprise before she realizes what is happening. However, more from confusion and the relative comfort of being in the underbrush than anything resembling understanding, she stays put.

Bluebell really wants to check on the noise, but knows that the little one can't be abandoned or it will surly die. She sees that the little pup is hiding in the underbrush.Wondering how long it will be before boardum causes mischief she decides to make a toy for the pup. She stabs a stick through a leaf to make a lune shaped toy to drop to the pup. She points to herself and says "Bluebell"

(Fleshed out the abilities for all available species a bit more, noticed that I kind of made lunes the mafia. Whoops.)

West

Bluebell throws a vaguely lune-shaped stick-and-leaf toy to Raika, who still sits in the underbrush, from the tree, telling her name to the pup. A frantic-eyed bulbori (not the same one from yesterday) crashes out of the bushes a few feet away, running from the screaming. The aurleons have gone silent and another zolnixi that Bluebell can see from her high vantage point in the trees pauses and looks toward the sound with concern, ears flattened.

Misha heads toward the noise at a lope, plowing through plant life and maybe a few small foraging animals. You finally reach a single large tree with a nest, containing a few eggs, nestled in one of the higher branches. A shrieking female aurleon, presumably the mother, is diving and clawing at the two vorkids on the ground, a Shadowhunter that deftly sidesteps each attack, focused on the nest, and a nervous looking Acidspitter that hastily fires at the aurleon every few seconds, tripping over its legs to get away from the slashing claws and beak of the mother. A third vorkid, a small Pouncer, rifles through the eggs in the nest, inspecting and smelling each, before leaning over the edge and signing something to the Shadowhunter.

Misha has met a few scouting lunemaras before, and recalls their sign language, which vaguely resembles something like what these bugs are doing. If so, then the Pouncer seems to have signed, Not these, move on?, and the Shadowhunter, with an irritated flick, Move on. Still more nests. We will find that aurleon. None of the four seem to have noticed Misha.

(I think now it's my turn...)

The nytekrie enjoys the nights. She followed the movement of any sylesti that crossed her sight and saw the stars for a few minutes. She got up and started walking, calmly, beginnig to scout around the path she will take the next day. A part of her didn't want to leave the faelora alone, helpless; maybe that inexplicable instinct to hoard what she needs, what better than a meal with her if she needed it? Yes, she need to keep an eye on the female. Aldaz, kept walking, remembering all the times she used that same path to get to the orchard. Okay, maybe she didn't need to scout it, but she felt so close to the orchard that she wanted to leave now and arrive at dawn. She looked back and saw the faelora. No, she can't leave until dawn, when the sun illuminates the sky and warms the grass. She sighed.

(Sophiegrace has exceeded the turn time limit.)

East

The day dawns without incident, Artemis blinking and rising with the sun. Aldaz had taken a short nap before dawn, and the two set off toward the orchard.

Some ways down the riverbank, you see a male aurleon, in the shadow of the trees, biting and clawing at a small huddled shape. As you near it, you realize he is stabbing and scratching at an egg. It already looks cracked, and every blow of that Terror Beak makes another chipping hole. Eggs aren't known for being tanks, particularly, and this one doesn't seem too far from dead.

Artemis looked up at the egg, concerned. "That poor egg... Should we do something about it?" She asked Aldaz, still focusing her gaze on the purple and yellow egg. She wasnt completely sure what she could do to save the egg by herself. But Artemis wanted to help it somehow despite the danger.

The area seems to quite to Bluebell after the noises that woke her up. She is still in unknown territory from yesterday's chase and the danger is to high for much exploration that she decides to stay in the tree for now. She has only been in a few training exercises and does not trust her fighting ability.Especially as her life is not the only one that needs protecting right now. She does move a few leaves to get a better view of the zolnixi to see if she knows it. Hoping that if what caused the sound comes closer they could fight it together.

Aldaz looked at the egg, the shell was several damaged. "It's almost dead. There's nothing we can do." She said, looking at the male aurleon, who was immersed trying to break the egg with his large and dangerous beak and pointed claws.
She didn't know when her body moved by itself, but when she realized that, she was on her hind legs, arms open and wings spread, intimidatingly bending over the aurleon, between their feets the damaged egg. She was angry and let him know with her long hiss.

(I don't know what sound should put there. But it's the sound hens do when you try to touch them when they're taking care of their eggs.)

East

The aurleon starts to hiss back, but eyes Aldaz's teeth and claws and instead bursts into the air. One of his ribbons snags on a branch and comes loose. As he flies away, he squawks back to you, "You don't understand what you've done! You'll kill it yourself when you have to, you'll see."

You have gained [Cream Ribbon] and [Unidentified Egg]

The aurleon's eerie warning lingering in your mind, you decide that the egg doesn't smell like a nytekrie, and you think you can discern from the way the male was attacking it that it wasn't an aurleon egg either. Artemis confirms that while it is not a faelora, Faerina's gifts tell her that it is still clinging to life, though not quite stable. For some odd reason, you suddenly feel like dozens of eyes are on you, gazes prickling over your back. You turn and see nothing, of course. You must just be unsettled from the aurleon's mad declaration.

What do you do?

(Out of character, I just need to ask for later reasons--how much gore are you okay with? Because there might be a dead animal at some point, and I want to know if I should describe it as 'limp with no external wounds' or...you know, the victim of a hunt.)

(I'm fine with a decent amount of gore)
Artemis shivered as she thought back to the way the aurleon spoke, what was it talking about? "I wonder what it is..." Artemis said, "I think we should keep it though after all we did to save it." The faelora looked around for something to help carry it without harming the damaged egg more.
