(tell me if you don't want to be pinged btw)

The zolnixi seems wary enough not to be an immediate threat, so Misha turns back to the pup. The lupora seems tense and frozen and Misha's heart goes out to the little hatchling. "Do you know where your mama is, little one?" she prods gently. Although she has discounted the zolnixi as a threat, Misha still angles her body to be between the pup and the scavenger, ready to defend if needed.

unable to see makes bluebell even more uncomfortable. She got lost chasing the bori earlier but is clearly un-trusted by the two. She sighs again and takes to she wants to help the pup but jumps up on a tree for more shelter for the night

Remembering when her parents told her about the gods, her mind recognized the godness of Earth and life, Faerina, giving her holy mantle to the female near to her. She wasn't wrong when she thought the female was a representation of the goddess.
Aldaz nodded. "Sometimes. There're more insects than meal. They only go there when apples ripen to hunt down the hungry sylesties or when they are passing through." She looked at the way to the orchard. "Are you going there too?"

(Right, sorry, I've been mostly trying to do a recap/compilation of everyone's actions. If there's anything about my style that you'd like me to change, please tell me. And there will be some sort of action. Soon.)

West

Night has fallen, and the gentle but distant whooshes of near-silent nytekries gliding between trees emerges, as well as the sounds of other nocturnal fauna. With a host of birdcalls, a small flock of aurleons settles in a stand of trees some distance away for the night. Bluebell has taken to a tree to rest, and Misha stands protectively by the pup, her question hanging in the air. A lone vulnyx prowls by, but passes by the three after a glance at Misha's form, and the moon casts dappled shadows over a herd of faeloras lying in a clearing nearby. A gentle drizzle begins to fall, pattering across the three of you, and somewhere out of sight, sylvorpas awaken and splash around in some body of water.

Bluebell listens to the night sounds. The pup below reminds her of her own time with her family. She starts to sing a lullaby of times gone by. Although the words seem strange in this battle harden world and she stumbles over quite a few names in the song she hopes that a since of calm will fall over the group. She resolves to introduce herself if they are still there in the morning.

East

Night has fallen, and the two of you sit on the riverbank as distant howls and hoots echo in the forest behind you. Artemis, reassured that the lupora threat in the orchard isn't too terrible, sits in some kind of peace. She listens to the ancient, silent voices of the oaks behind her speak of morkkos scratching their backs on trunks and aurleons roosting in branches, the bright and hopeful tones of the apple trees far ahead chirping about the fresh water and bright sun that tomorrow will bring, and the short-lived rustles of the annual grasses and ferns. Perhaps Aldaz's presence will protect her through the night.

Aldaz's (Falcon's Gaze) picks up on several patches of fur passing through the dim moonlight, identifying a few scavenging vulnyxes and one patrolling morkko. The vulnyxes scowl, a few larger, bolder ones lingering for a minute or two but move on eventually, and the morkko nods authoritatively as it passes. There is much you could do during the night. You could go hunt in the forest, trying to shadow your bright feathers, scout around for a path to take tomorrow, or even just stay and keep Artemis company. After all, you are a nytekrie; the night is long, and it is yours.

Misha relaxes at the zolnixi's retreat and song. She really should be returning to complete her patrol, but she can't just leave the pup alone. The tiny, still frozen lupora has brought out a kind and protective instinct she didn't know she still had, having gotten used to losing comrades on the battle field.

Resigning herself to a night in the wild, as well as whatever awaited her back at the barracks, Misha lies down by some nearby bushes. She keeps her body language open towards the pup, inviting it to join her and offering protection from the elements.

Raika begins to calm at the song, and when the nixi retreats she walks tentatively toward the Morkko. Something about it just...feels like it's the thing she should do. When she reaches the big ball of fur she pokes it gently to see what would happen. When Misha doesn't react, Raika curls up next to her, wondering at this big world she's somehow ended up in.

(Sorry all, I was...kind of not very here yesterday.)

West

The dawn has dried the rain of the previous night, and you all seem to have survived without incident. Misha awakes, realizing she's several hours late to completing her patrol. Raika is still snuggled up to her, and Bluebell stretches in her tree. The peaceful morning is suddenly broken by some awful shrieking somewhere further south, too frenzied for any of you to make out words.

Misha jerks awake immediately at the sudden noise, battle reflexes primed for action. She is about to stand when she remembers the small pup pressed into her side. She noses at it gently but hurriedly, hating the thought of leaving, but knowing she must investigate the sounds.

"Get up little one, you need to hide." The Zolnixi they'd seen last night crosses her mind as a threat but she sees no other choice, nudging the pup further under the cover of undergrowth. "Stay as still as you can and I'll be back soon." Misha turns, about to leave.
