You get back to your territory around sunhigh, leaving a few hours of daylight left before it would become dark.

It would likely be a good idea to find a place to make camp for when you find cats to join your clan, the easiest place would likely be to find Stormstars old camp, but you know the final decision is up to you. In the moors, the grass always seems to be moving, sometimes from wind, sometimes prey, and sometimes predators.

You notice a hawk in the distance. It was a small redtail, and it seemed to be circling overhead nearby, but somehow you can tell it isnt circling above you, it seems distracted by something else.

Curious I head over in the direction of the hawk, careful to stay quiet so that if it's prey I can catch it first.

It doesnt take long to figure out what the hawk was going to dive for.

A young brown tom cat, barely older than a kit, about 8 moons old, had his face and front paws down a rabbit hole, trying to coax them out, completely oblivious to the hawk above. This cat clearly didnt know how to hunt, and seemed pretty stupid trying to talk the rabbits out of the hole. The cat didnt even seem to notice that you were only a few foxtails away from him.

Not noticing you, the Hawk begins to dive for the young cat, who didnt appear to be moving any time soon

I leap forward placing my body over the kit and claw up at the diving hawk with a snarl.

You protectively place your body over him.The hawk was startled seeing you jump out, but didn't pull away in time as you struck it, doing some damage to it, but gaining a small scratch from its talon in the process.

The little brown cat yelped as it finally figured out what was going on and jumped back clumsily, looking at you with amazement, gratefulness, and fear, completely unsure of what to say.

I turn to look at him and pause, thinking of my words very carefully before asking "Are you alright?"

"Y-yes!" He squeaked nervously. "Thank you for saving me... I'm not used to living in the wild" He admitted shyly. He didn't have a collar on, so he might not be a kittypet, but based on his lack of experience, he was definitely some sort of stray

I nod "You really should be more careful. You on your own?"

He nodded confidently.

*Yep! My two legs got a dog, and the dog is really mean to me, so I had to leave so I wouldnt get hurt... but living out here is hard... and I dont know how to hunt or anything... but I also dont want to go back home because the dog is scary...* He said, his tail moving back and forth nervously.

I do perk up slightly, he needed a home, and someone to teach him how to survive out here. He could be a part of my clan, a recruited cat I was pretty sure he wasn't in a position to refuse so I say "I could help you learn. I'm looking for cats to join me, going to create a clan of cats who hunt and help each other here on the moor."
