With the desperate scramble for the throne and the lack of balance in power between the people and the Maesters, there are many who are now trying to wipe out the Red House. Assassination attempts have been made, Maesters killed under my watch, and a growing number who dont hold respect for us as they once did. I need somewhere to lay low. Peacebringer brought me here, then flew east to the mountains north of Brunsfield. Shell be around at some point, Im sure, but nobody can know Im here. Shiori is in danger too, and I request that she have at least 2 guards with her at all times. I would play the role of a distant relative of yours visiting. The Grand Maester looks to you for any reaction.

For hosting me and Shiori, yes, as well as just being a major House. There doesnt seem to be a pattern to any of the assassinations, people with power are just being targeted. Peacebringer will show up if there is approaching trouble, she has a knack for knowing when something is wrong. But that does not mean we are all safe when she is not here. I advise you to never be alone, and never be with just one other person unless it is one of us in this room. Shiori, this applies to you as well. I need to travel to multiple different great Houses with this warning, all over Sylestia. I will rest for a couple days at each House I stop at, but my next stop will be Brunsfield. I have some business there, and I would appreciate if you and Maester Shiori accompanied me there. The Grand Maester says.

Gata's smile went a bit lopsided as she heard the news. "I understand and I have considered it." She said with a wince. "After much consideration I have decided it is impossible to face them head on. Instead we could try to make a deal with them, it may be our only chance. I've heard that they may strike a deal with us at the right moment, we'll just have to play our cards right."

Ah yes, the throne. I have no current interest in it but I would like to keep a close eye on it; watch the competition unfold. (can I send some scouts/spies out?)

You wake up and lay still for a moment, allowing yourself to wake up properly. You climb out of your bed and begin to change so you can go downstairs. On your way downstairs, you hear the greeting call of your sylesti as they appear from the bottom of the stairs. You greet them in return with a quick pet on the head as you pass them to go to the manor kitchens. You feel slightly hungry.
As you enter the kitchens with your sylesti behind you, you see the head chef preparing food. Your house's maester has entered the kitchen from the opposite side of the room, and nods their head in a respectful greeting. What would you like to do?
"Good morning, Maester Lloa, Chief." I nod to those in the room before walking over to Lloa. "What is the news this morning?"
