The stars are fascinating.

My homeworld orbits two. Planets like it are called circumbinary worlds. One is called Adage. It is the larger of the two, older and a brilliant red-orange. The second, the younger of the two, is called Melancholy. It is smaller, and its light is bright, colorless white.

I am a traveller. There are few like me, with constellation skin. I see them few and far between, alone.

The stars have voices.

I can hear them if I lose my gaze in their light. Old stars reverberate with deep, thunderous ballads. They are slow and heavy with memory. New stars are the high flighty melody, like a reed-flute in the hands of a child.

Supernovae are the crashing beat of a drum. An end and a beginning, a punctual beat.

The stars are different when you watch them from different worlds.

My homeworld's sisters are small from Aquarlias, two diamond points in the bedazzled shawl of the universe. I will always know them, their intertwined melodies. They are never far from my heart.

The new stars are hot and fiery, full of billion-year life. The nebulae are warm, like the tropics of my home. I find comfort in the vastness of the universe, though many find it unsettling.
