He allowed the word to play upon his mind for a bit. "So that is what they are called, eh? Those odd little airy hor d'oeuvres. As delightful as that sounds, no. If we were to slaughter any one of them so close to the water, we could claim water sprites and sylvorpa only so long before they would likely suspect us. Knowing them goodie, amphibians, they will warn them if we happen too close to another community like that one yesterday. Let's play it cool until we can fill their lungs with water and pick them off one at a time."

"I hate to admit it but your right, they are so trusting it would be so easy to do it at any moment. I think I see a school of fish over there" she said rushing towards a reef.

Mwindo ~~ male ~~ In the dessert ~~ packless ~~ adult
He slowly crawled into the cave and as he did the low snarlings from him grew to what could be called growles. "What do you want hoofed animal?" he asked with a nervous voice. It was clear that the animal asking this was no threat, way to scared to be any type of threat. The dead birdlike creature laying between the hungry Zolnixi and the restign quitari. As he had backed to the small gathering of water he jumped forvard a bit with a scared yip nervously he quickly crawled back to the wall of the small cave for security from the qitari in the opening to the desert. The ears were moving back and forward nervously in a constant and almost scared pattern.

It took them a little bit of work, but they managed to ball up a school of carp over the reef and get it bubble netted towards the surface and proceeded to collect their fill. Granted one or two managed to get away, but they were nothing compared to the haul they wrangled away from the reef and up to the surface, each one of them taking turns at snatching a couple from the bunch.
"A nice mess of work that is," Mermydon said to Aleria. "We make a good team at this." he said to encourage her to lead them toward the place where Aleria's companions had been resting.
But to their surprise, when they managed to get within view of the spit of land they occupied. They found it deserted and the only sign being tracks going away from the water's edge! Mermydon was about to curse their misfortune when they heard and felt, vaguely, a disturbance in the water, as though something was in distress and needed aid, or to be put out of its misery...

Diego~Adult: 7 years (25 years in species)~ Canyon in Dessert
"I am meerly wondering if that in which you have feasted was me amigo, my friend. I find it not thank goodness." Diego snorted some clearing the sand from his nose as he did. "You haven't seen her have you? She is a Bulbori, black in color with rojo, red markings on her pelt." He inched into the cave with was much cooler than the outside. There was even water! He was so thirsty that it hurt to breath not to mention that his stomach growled with hunger at every turn. "Do you mind if I drink, senor?" His hooves clomped against the ground of the cave though he seemed not to mind. It was so cramped in here, but it was batter than being out there in the heat and the sun. The poor creature in front of him seemed afraid, but why? He was a predator, they weren't supposed to be afraid of anything yet here he was his voice laced with fear. What could be wrong?

From above Heroine can see that both kelparie are managing very hard to keep a ball of bait fish pressed up against the shallows. It was a mighty fine haul for breakfast and before it got too much more shallow Mermydon started using his tail mass to smack carp onto the shoreline, at least enough to try and satisfy a couple of them. He expected Aleria to join suit.
All the while his ears were twitching about near the water to try and pinpoint the sounds of a struggling sylestian somewhere in the lake. He knew he heard something, but it quickly silenced. There was no sudden surge or force sensing a predatory attack so it may have succumbed to exhaustion.
