"And by ours, he must also have punishment by Bildernia for betrayal of one's country." Nicote said.

Nanita just sighed. "You shouldn't have memorized the Codexa." she murmured to him.

"What, I got bored last summer!" he muttered to her.

" In our country, you follow our laws. And if you want to contridict me again, I expect it to be with an official audience. " with that, she turned and left the room.

"Guess she doesn't want help or has never seen what Bildernian punishments look like. "Nanita whispered to Nicote, who silently agreed and hoped to high heave that that idiot escaped to Bildernia. Betrayal was one of the worst crimes, next to murder, in his country, and conspiring was almost as bad.

(OH SHOOT Orcaaaaaa I just realized that Phoen and Erwen just entirely switched roles/personalities and got ten times derpier from my odd three-page story ramble... Yeah I think I preferred adventure-chasing, does-not-have-the-speech-of-small-child, has-lots-of-keys, very-good-at-weapon-things, I-have-a-very-big-bounty-on-my-head-but-people-love-me Erwen and the outlaw-ish, throwing-knives-at-Erwen, sword-and-quill-wielding, I-have-an-even-bigger-bounty-on-my-head-and-people-hate-me version of Phoenix more than this. Oops.)

No one had bothered to close the door, so Phoenix quietly slipped into the great hall and leaned against the doorway. The crowd was in an uproar and no one noticed her. It looked like Nicote was trying to defend Erwen. Oh well, even if he lost the case, they would have a rather difficult time and possibly several broken bones trying to catch him. He didn't get caught unless he wanted to.
That was, if he was on his own.

Erwen nudged the man who was also a wolf who was currently a man with his foot. "Hey. Get up. I can't carry you. Not so good people coming. Getting caught is probably bad." Receiving no response, he grabbed Lowell's collar and managed to stumble a few steps away before giving up. "You know, you should get hurt less. Getting hurt is also bad." He resumed the task of attempting to drag the man away, but wasn't making much progress. If the guards came running, he wasn't sure what he would have to do. They would never be able to catch him, for sure, but he doubted the wolf-man would appreciate having his head on the wall.

Nanita and Nicote had their heads together, before Nanita slipepd over to Phoenix. "If your friend is in Bildernia, he might die. If he is in this country, he will die." she whispered out of the side of her mouth so no one would hear her. She didn't looked directly at Phoenicia, instead keeping her eyes on Nicote, who was conversing with other Bildernian guards. In Altonauxian, of course. Because Nicote really didn't like speaking normal language. Luckily those guards were his personal bodyguards, or the poor soldiers would just be a confused mess.

Phoenix shrugged. "He's smart enough to know that, I can't do anything to help him now. He never stays in one place for long, anyways. If he dies, he'll put a good lot of them out of commission before that. But he won't die." She was sure of it.

"As long as he comes into Bildernian lands voluntarily, he'll be alright." Nanita nodded. "I trust your faith in him. My brother does not seem to think him a great threat to our country." She talked half in the official language of Bildernia.

(you forgot to ping me, Lark.. :()

Lowell Brichalles
He opened his eyes partially, gritting his teeth as he felt his eye burn and fur begin to refrizz over his bare skin as the curse gripped him again under the night's light.
He weakily pulled himself to his feet, wolf ears perking up as it stopped halfway, unable to fully consume his body in his wounded state. Either way, it was apparent they'd both be recognized by the guards and made the effort to pull his hood over his still-human face. And from the sounds of it, they were close by.
"Got careless. Lynch me more, why don't you? The one time I get cold feet on a mission.."
He growled and pulled Erwen forward by the arm, trying to look for a safe space to sneak into where they wouldn't be so out in the open.

(Oh gosh I'm a scatterbrain, sorry)

Erwen muttered some curses about reckless men who were also wolves and pointed towards a side alley not far away, the back doors of some shop, probably. "Door is missing a lock. Shop is most likely closed? It is late. Not a good place to hide but we will have time."
He paused, then added, "You are hurt," unnecessarily, as he drew his dagger. It was almost certainly not the best weapon against a horde of very murderous guards, but it would have to do if he couldn't disappear into the shadows.
Not literally. He wasn't magical. Not in this RP, anyways.

(you and me both tbh)
Lowell Brichalles
"Good enough for me."
He kicked open the backdoor into the shop storeroom and pulled Erwen in behind him with his good arm, ducking behind a crate of supplies as he shut the door behind himself. He almost yelped as he managed to sit on his own tail, pulling it aside with a bit of a wince as he tried to relax, keeping his ears craned towards the door and the alleyway outside.
"I told you not to worry about me. My sword arm will heal.. Eventually. But for now, we both just need to try to keep our heads on our shoulders."
