Asteria glances up at strangers before turning back to the creatures, "Do you know what these creatures are?"
She notices Armand's hand on his sword before noticing the prince. She bows to the prince hoping he was not going to make her kiss his hand, "Please forgive me Your Highness. I have never seen creatures quiet like these before."
She remembers her own pet a hellhound puppy named Crimson as she looks at the creatures, "Could they just be a wild pack of the local canines that have been enchanted?"
Bending down to get a better look at the creatures she tries to examine them looking for any signs of magic or other possibilites.

The beast on closer inspection seemed to be somewhat ethereal, much like a shadow or tortured ghost. There was some physicality to it, but it was slowly dissipating into the air as it gave up on fighting for life. While it appeared to look somewhat like a canine, there was something.. hauntingly unsettling about it.

"Sacred beast? I'm afraid not. Far from it." He acknowledged the bow with a slight dip of the head. "Far from a magician's pet or experiment either. The Kingdom scholars have been studying them since they first started appearing some time ago.. Er. I actually believe it was when you first arrived, Armand."

"Yes, Your Highness. I was almost killed by a pack of these beasts back then." He folded his arms a bit, raising an eyebrow. "I'm still surprised you had heard of that. Let alone remembered after all this time."
Damien | 70 HP | Kingdom of Vathia (City Gates)
"I make an effort to remember most people. For better or worse." He rubbed the side of his head, continuing.
"And I'm afraid there's not been much headway since then on even knowing what those beasts truly are more than pure amalgamations of hatred and fear. They are not natural to this realm, but still.. They seem to appear just out of thin air the farther you get away from the Kingdom. I've seen them most frequently around the Old Ruins.. So if they've begun to move inward, it is very concerning to say the least."

"Thank you for the answer,'' Asteria stands back up, "That begs the question though is someone responsible for creating these creatures and if so, why?"
She turns to Armand and Damien, "Armand would you mind answering a few questions about when you first encountered these creatures please?"
She had a feeling that these creatures were just the beginning. That thought sent a shiver up her spine. Even though it was none of her business she couldn't just leave these people here without trying to help; it wasn't in her nature.

"I can.. But there's not much to say. I woke up in the Forest of Eden here in Vathia and decided to rest the night before trying to learn more about how I even got here. By the time the sun fell, I was swarmed by them."

"Do you remember which direction they came from or did they just appear? Did the creatures look even slightly different then the ones that are here currently? My last question for now is do you remember about how many there were," An experianced tracker would try ask these questions she knew but she also knew the answers didn't always make sense, "Your Majesty do you think that they could possible originate from the Old Ruins or that the cultpruit is using the old ruins as a way to focus their power or as a place of operation?"
Asteria wasn't trying to be overly nosy she just wanted to get to the bottom of it. She looks around for any tracks or marks that could have been created by the creatures so it could lead her to where they came from.

I stand back and let the strangers talk with Damien and I just observe. 'I hope we don't encounter those on our trip.' I think to myself worriedly. I plan on staying out of anything to do with this creature, unless Damien asks.

I had come running when I heard the call for warriors when one of the strange beasts had appeared near the city gates, but when I heard that it had been handled I slowed my pace. When I arrived I saw a group of strangers along with Kandir, the Prince, and his guard.
I quickened my pace and stood at attention, "My prince, I apologize for not arriving sooner." I look closer and notice that they are packed for travel, "Do you intend to travel without more than one guard? These are dangerous times now, what with these beasts out and the palace not entirely safe anymore."

Noticing that Lady Cassandra not that she knew the woman's name was not talking to her Asteria choose not to annonce her presence even more.

Oh, so the noble person was a prince, then. Wren wasn't sure if he was supposed to bow, so he didn't. He nudged what was remaining of the beast with his foot. "It wasn't that difficult to kill. You'd have thought there would've been more to deal with it there's some reason they're all the way out here. Not," he added quickly, "That I'm really complaining. Although taking on a lot of them at once might be an interesting challenge. "

"It does.. seem likely. There is a tremendous amount of magical energy that collects in that area. It would be an easy magical amplifier for anyone able to contain and make use of it."

"It's hard for me to remember everything. It was 6 years ago. I don't remember seeing anyone, but I also don't know any magic myself either. I don't think I woke up anywhere near the ruins." Armand shook his head. His thoughts seemed to be hanging on something.. But it was too foggy. It wasn't the first time it had bothered him.. But he wasn't exactly sure how he had gotten out of that forest in the first place. He swore someone had saved him that day, but.. His mind was struggling to piece events together.

"You've served my sister faithfully for years, Armand. I would not suspect you of any wrongdoing. I have other thoughts into the matter, but I don't think this is nearly the time or place for that level of discussion." Damien seemed to be shifting the topic away as he caught sight of Lady Cassandra.
"It's alright. The guards here and these travelers have more than proven capable of handling things themselves.. As for my traveling, mind my tongue, Lady Cassandra, but I'd say I'd be far safer out in the wilderness than in my own quarters. Until that thief is brought to justice, I cannot say the palace remains safe for me. I am more than capable of handling myself against wildlife." He frowned, brushing a feather off his shoulder.

"I wouldn't call that wildlife, Your Royal, ah, Dragon-ness," said Wren brightly, thoughtfully tugging a stray feather out of his hair and fiddling with it, "Most wildlife doesn't show up out of nowhere and immediately start trying to kill you. We usually call things that do that monsters, there's a difference." He ignored the part about the thief, not particularly caring to get caught up in entirely royal matters.
