She nodded in agreement. The hatch in the ceiling opened, and a ladder was tossed down. Slowly, a figure began to descend it. Elysetta held a hand out to keep you from attacking. "If this person is at all relating to the story, he'll have no soul. But there's one way to test that," she whispered, her breath tickling your ear.
The man reached the bottom of the ladder and kicked it away. He stood in front of the both of you, looking like a normal human. He had a scruffy beard and baggy clothing. He scrutinized the two of you carefully.
Elysetta stood up, keeping you down with a hand on your shoulder briefly before removing her hand once again. She took two steps forward, facing the man with a pleading look on her face. She was breathing heavily. "Please, sir..." she pleaded, sounding on the brink of tears. "My husband and I were just trying to get somewhere safe... You see, I'm with child, and my family didn't approve of our love because we're not of the same species. But... Sir, love knows no bounds. Please... We won't mention this to anyone if you just let us go..."
The pixie was surprisingly convincing. She actually began to cry a bit, tears cascading down her cheeks.
Ruk gave you a small, almost sinister grin and tapped the hilt of his sword. He nodded once, slowly, letting you know that he could handle a trap.

Julien grinned impishly in return. "I trust you." He glanced over at the goblin again. "We're going now," he called. "We'll be back as soon as possible."
With another deep breath, he turned and started heading in the direction the goblin had pointed out to them.

You head towards the direction, and soon find piles of gnawed-on bones. After a bit, the piles become even bigger, and you see tombstones and dug-up graves. It seemed like a goblin graveyard. Pacing among the piles, you see a giant canine-like beast, massive fangs dripping saliva and eyes glowing white. It seemed to be covered in scars and scratches, and was even limping slightly.
What do you wish to do?
a) Attack
b) Send Ruk in
c) Approach slowly
d) Say something
e) Leave

d) Say something (to Ruk, not to get the beast's attention or anything-)
Julien stared at the beast. "Woah," he whispered. "What is that thing?" He glanced at Ruk. "Do you know how to deal with... this?" He gripped his knife nervously, suddenly wishing he were proficient in a weapon with a longer range.

Ruk nodded with an orcish smile, and then held up his sword. He pointed to the beast, and then imitated plunging his sword into it.
What do you wish to do?

Malak's muscles tensed immediately at the sound of the hatch in the ceiling opening. He had no weapon, but he had trained in hand to hand combat. It was only Elysetta's hand held out that kept him still.
She was right, it was better to observe. Neither of them had any idea what they were up against.
Her breath on his ear sent a nearly imperceptible shiver throughout his body, and he could feel his face redden again, but thankfully it was dark. He kept his focus forward as the figure descended. The man looked fairly normal, non-threatening, but Malak knew enough by now to know not to make assumptions.
Malak did jerk in reaction to Elysetta's statements, though he tried to play it off as him reaching for her in concern as she stepped toward the strange man. He tried to listen with logic to what she was saying, maintaining perspective that it was an act she was putting on in an attempt to gain more information about their captor. It was hard not to let the words effect him though, and he only hoped the emotion playing across his face could be interpreted as those of a worried husband.

The man didn't budge in response to her words or tears. She very convincingly wrapped her arms around herself and tried to hold back sobs. "We just want to get safe..." she murmured, closing her eyes briefly before opening them again.
Your captor lifted one hand and snapped two of his fingers together. "Shayd, Asche," he snapped. From the darkness sprung two beings, one female and the other male. They had gray skin, dark gray hair, and glowing red eyes.
The darkness then sprang up and swallowed your captor within it. These two shadows were different than the other ones. These ones had faces, and were gray rather than fully pitch. They crept towards you. "Asche," hissed the female. "Methinks we should take our time devouring these ones," she chuckled darkly.
Asche smiled. "What an excellent idea, Shayd," he agreed, though his gaze fell to the ground.

"Oh, umm, I see, well I guess we should find some where for you to go. I mean, I am not really set up to take care of you really...and it is dangerous out there." she thinks on this for a bit, ideally she would take the young dwarf back to her own parents to foster as they did herself, but that would be going backwards not forwards. Perhaps she could speak with Niala and see what she thought of the situation. "Give me a little bit and let me talk with Niala, we will find somewhere for you to stay, ok Ragna?"
Ruk nodded with an orcish smile, and then held up his sword. He pointed to the beast, and then imitated plunging his sword into it.

Julien smiled nervously. "Would you mind attacking first? It'll be easier for me to help once I know how this thing fights." He glanced down at his bag. "I can always throw my knives from farther away, too."

Nothing about this situation felt good. Malak's entire body was coiled for action. He feared for himself, he feared for Elysetta, and he truly was not sure how to save either of them from what seemed like certain doom. Part of him wanted to rush the two shadowy figures, attack and see what happened. If nothing else he would go down fighting. But he also remembered the one thing he kept telling himself lately, this was not his world. Things did not work the same way here as in his remote desert village. Elysetta seemed to have a better grasp on what was happening than he did, and while it took all of his effort to...
c.) Stay still
...he knew that they probably had a better chance at survival if he let her take the lead.
