Elysetta sat down next to you, folding her wings. She seemed to have no interest in the meat, however. "I'm just happy I'm free, really. But if you're asking me, I think there are two warring dwarf factions in the mountains that could be a fun endeavor," she answered.

She sighs a bit, but kneels down so that she's not quite so tall. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. I just thought you looked nervous and wanted to see if there was anything I could do to help. I ...I am Gara, what is your name?" Yeah she was trying to be as non-threatening as she could be, but she also understood, if the little girl wasn't going to talk to her, there wasn't much she could do, but she had to try if she needed help.

Malak was very aware of her closeness as she sat down next to him by the fire. He was incredibly grateful for the scarf across his face. He feared his emotions the last few days would have been very easy to read without it. There was a moment after she spoked that he simply stared at her, blinking rapidly.
"Warring dwarves?" he started, his voice laced heavily with confusion, "Fun endeavor? Are you certain you didn't contract something from that beast last night?"

Elysetta looked away in embarrassment. "What, do you prefer we live out our days camping around and travelling aimlessly? Growing old without having made much of a difference?" she asked tentatively.

As soon as he saw the look of embarrassment on her face, Malak cursed himself. He was so unsure of how to behave around her and he realized that he had made a grievous error.
"Please," he said, reaching out a hand before he could stop himself, not touching her but just letting it hove a few inches from her shoulder, "I meant no offense. Forgive me, I am just still so unused to not being isolated in the desert. I am not even fully sure what dwarves are, only that I've heard tales of them as a child. You are correct. I have lived so long under the thumb of others, I do not wish my life now to be aimless and unfulfilling."
He tried very hard to ignore the comment she had made about growing old, for the thought of spending that long with her made his stomach somersault. He knew she hadn't meant it in that way, but he could not convince his heart of that.

She smiled, and again tried to look as non-threatening as she could. "Ok umm, well Ragna, what's wrong? You look like there is something wrong. Have you lost something? Are you in trouble? Can I help you some how?" She was concerned about the young one.

Elysetta gave a small shrug. "I don't get offended easily," she amended. "And dwarves are not bad creatures. In fact, they have a pretty positive reputation. I met a dwarf a few years back, when I had been out adventuring with a new friend," she told you.

Malak nodded and retracted his hand as casually as he could. He did not know what kept coming over him while he was around her. After the age of five he had never even been allowed to hug his mother.
It was so strange for him to seem so compelled to touch her.
"I see," he mused, stroking his short beard in thought, "So what are these dwarves warring over, do you know?"
