He glanced up at her as she passed him. He didn't care that she hadn't noticed his presence. He was an assassin. People aren't supposed to notice him.

She paused, hearing breathing, then turned to look at him. Directly, full in the eyes. Then, subtly, she put her hand on her waist as she asked, "Who are you?"

his souless black eyes stared into hers. Not a lot of people had the guts to look him, the rumored pet tiger, in the eyes. He figured he should bow or something, since she was roaming the royal palace. Meaning her status was higher than his. But he didn't. He had no reaon to respect her. But he didn't speak either.

But it didn't hurt having it with her now. Seeing their main guard was busy babysitting Nicote.
