Truth be told, Nicote was not expecting this. Yes he wasnt surprised by him changing into a wolf but dke magic.....

Nicote thought carefully for a few moments before answering.

."as far as I am aware, dark magic is often attained through an act of maliciousness. It may also be attined when one does something Unforgiveable. For Bildernians, it is slightly different, but as you are not Bidlernian I will not disclose those sepcifics. However, I cna assure you that dark magic is not always gained through evil deeds and it is not the only form that may be gained when one chooses to turn. Few outside of Buldernia realize that many melovious acts that hey believe results is Dark magic actually results in Poison magic. Rarley it results in Mysteyr magic, though it is rare. On occasion, the victim of the deed will receive the ill effects as well. See as you have been charmed into becoming a wolf at night and going by the little I know of your situation, I believe you may have been cursed with the effects of a blade wielded by one who did an act that resulted in you falling victim to the curse. You have not been struck with dark magic but instead either Poisom or Mystery magic. Poison magic is a branch of dark magic but Mysteyr magic is an entirely dog iit's own.

(Did I write too much?)

(not at all. Don't worry about length with me when I write as much as I do when Lowell's just strolling around the town.
This setting's fun to write for. ;;)

Lowell Brichalles
"I see. So there is a chance this was not performed in absolute malice. Still, it leaves me to have great concerns for my brother and his own activities. But those are concerns for another time.."
He frowned.

"So what exactly is this mystery magic, if you mind sharing?"

(Lol)

"It is....how to say.....anything that does not quite fit into one if the other 11 branches of element we has in our kingdom." Nicote said. "Ilkusoons. Transformations. Levitations that do not involve the air."

"..Then there is a chance that this is what I am dealing with."
He hadn't heard of any texts or recordings of demons using unknown, strange magic, but he assumed anything was possible at this point.

"So onto my next area of concern, what do you know of any spells, dark, poison magic, or otherwise that can control minds through their power?"

Nicote gave a hollow laugh. "Plenty. I have a few in my guard myself."

I was going to pull Lyon in until.. Lowell became him
Uh

I guess I have some more dudes I could pull in, but I want to see how long Es lasts first tbh)

Sorry orca I'm dumb
I separate characters as much as I join them but I swear it just happens at random)

Lowell Brichalles
He pinched the bridge of his muzzle, removing his glasses.
"That is.. not reassuring. How many do you know that consist of dark magic and are considered forbidden to practice?"

"Very few in our kingdom, for much of the time it is the victims of one's deeds the are cursed with undesireable effects." Nicote said. "Much of the time, it is the innocent that falls victim."

"I see. But if one was to ignore this drawback?
Maybe.. even treat it or mask it by the use of holy magic.
What would come of that? Would they be successful in such a thing?"

It was a hypothetical, but he was curious for the sake of his own purposes with his condition as well as scouting any potential weak points of the Grand Duke's power.

"I suppose it is pointless to ask you of any spells of that nature that would be forbidden in Arkaos, considering the mass majority of dark magic practiced here is very frowned upon for those very same reasons."

(Ff I misread your post, but whatever. I'm leaving it)
