Ok, so here is my entry! I decided to bake some cookies for this!

Getting all the stuff out!

Cutting them out and putting them in the oven

Starting to decorate them

And finally the finished product! The icing was a bit runny and the words are almost illegible... but they are supposed to be the 10 candy hearts from the festival around a sylesti nest ^-^

well, don't know how it will turn out but let's do a thing I guess

thinking about a base shape

and making a base neph (this is actually version 2, we decided the first way we thought of doing it wouldn't work very well)

Clean the lines up and trace with a lightbox to make a sharp-lined version...

whip up a neph design in the generator to have some colours

---
Putting in that scalpel action. Forgot to have the nametag in this one

What followed was a lot of scalpeling and also cutting out the lower wings only to conclude they were too small and having to make a new set

cutting out some letters and...

Done

---
Update 24th, 12:40am
because I felt like I should do lettering for the front

(bonus, inside when (mostly) closed)

(and also unhook those bottom wing coilies from eachother)

Here is my entry. I did simple paper card with a bulbori.

Drew and colored bubble letters.

I drew the bulbori's line art. The tail wouldn't fit.

I colored in the bulbori.

I cut everything out and added the tail.

I glued it down on a red sheet of paper.

Another photo without my username.

Alright, this year's Valentine entry. Last year I did the bead mosaic which nearly drove me, so I definitely wasn't doing that again. I thought about crocheting or baking something but had no ideas for either option. This led me to a drawing. I do not sketch very often because I'm not very good at it and I'm much better at other things. However, I decided that since I've never tried drawing for a contest before I'd go ahead and give it a shot.

Here we have the starting sketch. I decided to try and draw people (which I've only ever attempted one other time...) wearing Sylestia costumes to attend a Valentine's Day party.

Starting the coloring process...

More color added. I was super happy about the character on the right and, not surprisingly, I didn't do as great with the other two because I think I got too confident in myself. Also letsbjust ignore how terrible the coloring is on the middle one shall we?

Now, the finished sketch (including one pic without the paper with my info on it so you can see the whole thing)! I did my best to make the building look sort of like the city hall in the Sanctuary, with the trees as sort of part of the architecture. I added text to the area on the left to make this more like a Valentine's gift, and put writing on the sign to direct people to the party.

This was a fun project which challenged a skill set that I don't use very often. Overall I'm quite pleased with the results and I hope you all enjoy it! :)

I really wanted to make something out of clay for this valentine project. Since Nephinis are my favorite species, I thought I would do one giving a valentine to its love.

First, I began with rolling out some modeling clay and shaping my outline. It's a bit hard to see but I think it shows enough.

Then I filled in my outline with some acrylic paint.

Once I finished polishing up the lines, I was ready to paint.

Ta Da! All finished (I got caught up in painting and forgot to take another picture :)

*Hope you don't mind me pinging*

I really like how yours turned out! I liked how the noodle "popped out," it was very well drawn as well. ^u^

Here is my Sylestia Valentine~

I went with a simple design. It may look like it only took a short while to complete, but I was using coloured inks and a quill of sorts. It was my first time using this set, and my first time using a quill in a very long time. It was a lot of fun to try that out again. Also, it may be hard to tell from the pictures, but the ink is shiny~

As always, it was a lot of fun! There are a lot of nice entries this year :3
