"She sounds like a nice woman." Dexion said with a rather sad smile. "Ms. Linda offered to buy me one but I didn't know enough about them to pick one out." He said looking out at the few horses.

" You don't have a horse? Or even a choice to pick one? " I asked him.

"Nope, I've never even seen one up close until now." He said looking at the horses. "I really haven't had the chance to see them. Back in the orphanage I was lucky if I got to see dogs, but a horse? That was out of the question. Until this year. Since I'm aging out Ms. Linda thought it would be cool to allow me to spend my last few months here before I have to go out into the really world on my own."

" Oh. Y'know, thats kind of like my situation. I'm turning 18 in a couple months, and my father said I would get to spend the rest of my time at a school of my choice before having to take over his company. You're kind of lucky, since you can pave your path. My path has already been paved, chiseled, and polished. "

"Maybe. I would be nice to have a family for once even if it is just for a day or so." He said trying to hide the fact that he was almost in tears. She talked like this was a better way to have things. But she didn't know what he went through to get here. "Or just to have someone that cared enough to take me in as their own for a bit." He wiped a hand on his face hurriedly getting rid of the tears. "I have no living family, not after my parents were killed."

" Sorry. I know my problems are nothing compared to yours. " I said.

"It's alright. You had no way of knowing. Could we um drop the subject though? I came here to try and forget that I'm supposed to grow up in six months." He said with a sad smile. "So why exactly do you have so many horses? And where do you keep them all? It must be hard taking care of that many."

" Well, my parents want to make sure i'm set for everything ahead of me, and buying 15 horses is nothing to them " She said with a small eye roll. " As for where we keep them, they had a stable built for them, and they hire people to take care of them. I don't know if they are going to have the horses shipped here though. Maybe, but I don't know for sure. "
