Coloring Page

The object of this contest is to color in the provided lineart as best as you can. You can submit either a digital or traditional entry, but either one or the other - not both. All entries will be judged the same. There will not be separate prizes for traditional and digital entries.

Rules

1. You may color the provided lineart below using either traditional or digital means. It has to be one or the other and you can only submit one entry.

2. After you're done coloring the lineart, come back to this thread and post your entry. Please do not reserve posts! Only post when you are submitting your entry!

Here is a helpful guide on how to upload images to the internet and then post them here on our Forums:

https://www.sylestia.com/forums/?thread=23769

3. You must complete your submission entirely on your own. You cannot have any assistance.

4. You cannot alter the lineart in anyway. This also means that you cannot add additional lineart, such as custom mutations or new objects. However, you can add in coloring details, such as genes, sparkles, glows, etc.

5. In order to receive credit for participation, the entire canvas must be colored in. Additionally, it must look like actual effort went into your submission. In other words, you can't just paint bucket the entire thing blue and receive credit. We are ultimately the final judges of what qualifies as participation. If you actually put forth effort to color the lineart, I am sure that you will have nothing to worry about.

6. The due date for this contest will be the end date of the Winter Festival. This is being posted prior to the Winter Festival beginning so that everyone has ample time to work on and finish their submission.

Prizes

All submissions will be judged by myself and Faiona. We will announce winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Everyone who submits a valid entry will be awarded nice participation prizes, including the Title: The Artistic.

Above all else, have fun! These contests are just meant to be fun and to let your creativity run wild! =)

Wow! This was astoundingly difficult to somehow select winners over others... we literally spent hours just trying to figure out how to place these entries and narrow them down. Even after that, we still ended up with 20 of them selected lol.

This was definitely the most difficult judging we've ever had to do for any contest.

Thank you so much for all of the terrific entries and we hope these prizes made it worth your time!

Hi Krin,
Only one clarification for ya, Can we do a detailed sky? Like add things in there besides clouds (Northern lights, moon, silhouette of mountains or trees for examples) Its the only blank space that I want to tinker with like that (screams scenery to me) XD

Yep. You can add details to the Sky.

Just can't do things like... add another pet - add, I don't know, Santa's sleigh lol, etc, etc. But you can add in like stars, clouds, aurora, etc. Things that are just basically coloring details.

And if you ever have a specific question, you can always PM me what you're wanting to do and I can let you know if it's okay or not.

Edit: Other things that would be examples of being acceptable - plops of snow on the trees. Anything done with shading or highlight styles. Details to the wrapping paper/presents. Etc, etc.

If doing a digital art, is it ok to go over the already done lines to make them a bit thicker otherwise they may be hard to see, or just leave the pre-existing lines alone altogether e.g. the horns on the little kitty in the box

Yea. You can go over the lines and like color them or make them thicker. Just don't redraw the lineart, erase the lineart, or add new lineart.

I was gonna do a digital entry but... I think I'll try my hand at some watercolour, so long as I can manage to print the lineart onto watercolour paper. Wish me luck with that I guess...
