As you enter the shadows with the being, you find that he is an adolescent orc. He was covered in silver plate armor that seemed a bit heavy to you, but he didn't appear to notice. He held a sword in his hand.

"The elvish tribe nearby has been hunting me," he revealed to you.

Kiothar began heading away from the lake, expecting you to follow her. "My tribe decided they no longer needed my assistance," was all she answered with.

"- And yet I'm an Elf and you've helped me. This makes your gesture even greater. Have you made something to anger them, or are they hunting you only because you are... Well, an Orc? If it's the case it's undeserved, because you don't seem to be an enemy of the Elves."

He opened his eyes at the sound of her reply only to discover she was gone. He bolted upright, suddenly awake and looked around. Grabbing his belt, Maldok jumped down from his branch and silently walked towards Kiothar. "I am sorry," is all he could say. He grasped her arm in sympathy. He did not know exactly how Kiothar felt, or her situation, but he did know what it felt like to lose his tribe.

Letting go of her arm, he knelt beside the water's edge and mumbled, "A warm feather bed is all I've been dreaming of today." Then he looked up to Kiothar with a small, friendly smile.

The orc glanced down at the ground, almost shy. It seemed unlike what you've heard of most orcs. "If you were with them, you wouldn't have gotten caught in a trap," he revealed. "And they're hunting me because they think I killed one of their young cubs," he added.

Kiothar shrugged at your sign of sympathy. She didn't seem too bothered by the event. "Well, I don't have a feather bed, but I have a fur one a little ways down the lake. See, this is the basin of the river. If we follow the river, we'll come across a waterfall. My home is in there," she explained.

Maldok stood up and wiped the dirt from his breeches. A fur bed is just as good as a feather bed. With a flourish of his hand and a small bow he said, "Show me the way, my lady." A solemn, emotionless expression returned to his face and he waited for Kiothar to lead.

With a dry chuckle, Kiothar led you around the lake and along the river until you reached the waterfall she had mentioned. The two of you carefully slid across some rocks to the midst of the waterfall. She gestured towards it. "You can go first. Just walk in through the falls. There's a cave behind. You will get slightly wet," she warned you of the roaring of the water.

This Orc really seems different from the one I have met before. I could not believe that he came to this forest to kill anyone or anything especially if it would upset the Elves living here and make them hunt him. He could have killed me if he had wanted to. He helped me instead.
"- You didn't, if I'm right? If they come, I'll tell them than you've helped me, and that's I don't think you are the one who did that. They should listen to me, as I'm an Elf too. Why are you here alone in this forest?"

Before proceeding Maldok glanced back at the elf, who seemed to be as expressionless as he. The water crashed down on him as he passed through on light feet, wincing at the icy temperature. He dumped the water from his quiver and waited for Kiothar to appear.
