The creature cocked its head to the side at you, big black eyes staring at you curiously. The eyes didn't even flicker when you dropped the food, but after a moment, the squirrel hurried down the tree, snatched the food, and then returned to its perch. It kept its eyes on you as it nibbled the fruit happily. Then, it let out a few high-pitched chirps. Before you could react, it leapt from the tree, limbs spread open and forming a square-shape. The creature landed skillfully on your arm and climbed quickly up to sit on your shoulder.
What do you wish to do?

- You are right. If he saw you with him, there is probably nothing I could say that would convince them that you are innocent. I think you should leave this forest before they find you... The problem is that the Captain's Wiles is plaguing Energyle, so you may not really be safer outside. The Last human town I've seen was touched by the disease.

He sighed and glanced around. "I've tried leaving. They have patrols constantly out hunting for me, though, and I always almost get caught," he elaborated. "I can't escape on my own."

"I don't think I can get sick," he revealed. "I think I might be the only one who can't. I spend time with her and cuddle with her, but I don't get sick. And we can't take her out, because that would spread the highly contagious disease," he reasoned.

Before nestling under the furs, he discreetly withdraws an arrow from his quiver and neatly tucks it under his long sleeves. Still weary of the she-elf, Maldok hopes the fine point of his arrow will be enough to protect him if anything goes awry. The warmth and softness of the bed feels great under his aching body. He peers at Kiothar one last time before falling into a deep slumber.
