A sickness has spread across the forest, dogs are weakened and prey is scarce most dogs are sick and only the strongest dogs can survive. There are two packs of dogs, Fire pack lives deep in the forest and Water pack lives near the river.

~Dobhar~Firepack~forest underbrush~

Dobhar lowered his snout to the ground and sniffed at the thick layer of leaf litter under his paws. There was prey here somewhere, he hadn't been intending on hunting on this little patrol but food was food.
He searched for she source of the scent moving through the underbrush with slow deliberate steps. He froze suddenly at the sound of somthing moving across the floor of scattered leaves. He tensed and took several steps towards the sound, before he could see his prey it realized he was there and bolted. He chased after it seeing it was a raccoon. He ran after it the both of them throwing leaves into the air as they ran. It tried to climb a tree to escape but he leapt at it and caught the unfortunate creature in his jaws. He straightened up and turned to make his way back to the den.

Lavender~ Waterpack ~ camp
Lavender looked at the sad looking prey pile "Star, would you send out another hunting patrol?" She asked. Star nodded and the rest of the patrol fallowed him out of camp.

~Dobhar~Firepack~Forest~

Dobhar padded along the game trail back to his den. His pack's territory had expanded quite a bit recently so even those not designated as patrollers had to take their turn checking their boundaries. The recent expansion of their territory was not necessarily a good thing though, in reality they hadn't gained all that much ground it was simply that there was no longer any neutral ground between the territories of various packs. This made trespassing a real issue for both sides but, it was all too necessary. With the disease spreading his pack's numbers were dwindling as were those of their prey. It took nearly twice as much territory to hunt to find enough food for a pack nearly half the size it had been not two years prior.

mist saw dohbar return and hurriedly followed him. "i-is there anything i can do for you sir?" she asked in quiet but peopy voice. "i could hunt, fix your den up, or patrol. anything you need sir." mist said still following.

~Dobhar~Firepack~Pack Camp~

Dobhar smiled at the eager youngster. It was good to see that some still had some fire left in them during these difficult times.
"You could help fix up the camp, make it look a little more presentable for tonight's meeting with the water pack."
He dropped the dead raccoon and nudged it towards the eager omega.
"You could start by taking this to the store house. Take the opportunity to take inventory as well, and report back to me so I know if we need to send out another hunting party."

He knew the water pack was probably having an equally difficult time collecting food to bring to the meeting. At the very least there weren't any pups to feed though, going three years without any new pups was somewhat disheartening to say the least.
There was only a few hours left untill the water pack would arrive, he would have to make himself presentable. This would be his first meeting as alpha since he took over last year and he wanted to make a good impression, so he went to his den to groom himself.

"yes sir!" mist said snatching the racoon and sprinting off for the store house. when she got there she placed the racoon in the 'small prey section'. taking inventory they had one fresh racoon two rabbits one old and one that looked like it had melted. she put the fresh prey in one pile and nudged the old rabbit to the back of the cave. mist satisfied with her work made her way back to the alphas den to report. "we have about two peices of small prey sir. u-unless you count and old rotten rabbit then we have three." she reported. "i-is there anything else you need done sir?" she asked nervously.
