Meaning(s): This Vulnyx, with her little horns, is such a classic-looking Demon Cat. She needs a name that reflects this.
"D.C." (pronounced dee see) is the name of a demonic black cat that dwells in and among government buildings in Washington D.C. According to an article in the Deseret News (27Oct1999), it was the custom, back in the day, to persuade cats to live in any areas of a building where there might be rats, so some American government official placed several cats in the basement tunnels of the U.S. Capitol building. Even though it's been over a century, one of those cats has never left.
According to a story in the 28May1993 edition of the Washington Times, D.C. usually appears just before a national tragedy (having been seen prior to both the Lincoln and Kennedy assassinations) and also around the time the Presidential administration changes. The San Diego Union-Tribune (01Nov1992) and Roll Call magazine (07Oct2010) report similar information, including the fact that Capitol employees call the demon cat D.C. or Dee Cee. As is appropriate for a classical demon cat, D.C. is solid black and is not to be trifled with, but doesn't harm anyone who leaves her alone. She also shows the traditional demon cat ability of starting out the size of a large house cat but then growing to a tremendous size if provoked. It provokes her if Capitol guards shoot bullets at her, so they have learned not to do that.
(Editorial comment--D. C. is going to be doubly busy making personal appearances for the next ten days!)
Due to the length and character limitations of the Sylestia naming system, you can't name your girl "DC" or "D.C." but "Dee Cee" or DeeCee" would work just fine.
