Alright, here is my edible flower entry. I think I had more fun with tho ne than other past "crafting" contests. :)

So, we begin with my materials: 2 oranges (in case 1 wasn't enough), a green onion, a bag of sunflower seeds, and some chocolate mint cookies.

Using a thick slice of one of the oranges, I begin to place the sunflower seeds.

Now I use the remaining peel pieces and cut them into little petal shapes.

All that's left is to add a green onion stem and some chocolate mint cookie dirt and...voila! a beautiful (and edible) sunflower!

And a couple close-ups of the flower and the dirt.

Could've sworn it was plain yellow yesterday. ;n;

Looks like I'll eat the ones on the right...(sliced em up and spiraled em, one end to another)

I'm not too good at making edible arrangements. >u>;

The banana slices were too moist, so they didn't stay in one place when I stuck a toothpick through em. It looked better in my head LOL. It was fun playing with my food though~

1. Gathering supplies. I decided to use marshmallows and spiced gumdrops because I had them laying around the house from holiday baking earlier this year. This is actually try 3 and like they say, 3rd times the charm XD

2. Flattening the marshmallows into usable shapes.

3. The pink marshmallows were wrapped around a red gumdrop to look like a rose.

4. The green marshmallows were used to look like leaves.

5. Completed flower:

I actually had a lot of fun making this and am very happy with how it turned out, I almost don't want to eat it XD

I decided to make my flower by carving an apple. I found a tutorial for a great rose design but I'm aware of my limits so I went for something simpler.

1- I worked with the bottom of the apple.

2- I carved off the center of the petals.

3- I cut off around the petals.

4- I added a few details made with the bits of the apple that I didn't use.

I carved an apple as well and painted it with food coloring!
(It was a lot of fun too, but quite the challenge!)

Started off with an apple

Beginning of carving

Completed carving

Completely finished, and edible (though probably not very tasty :P)

I forgot to date the photos... For some reason I thought I needed my user ID instead of a date, hope it's okay, though I'll try to make another and date that one before the contest is over.

The whole process is there. I used my dragon as a card holder. The Fondue tastes like marshmallows. Link to my DA page and the picture that you can resize. http://wrayth-pariah.deviantart.com/art/Edible-Flower-Garden-for-Sylestia-614556741

This didn't really work very well as the chocolate was older than I expected and therefore very lumpy when melted, and my camera made lines in the last picture. But I had fun, and my kitchen smelled *amazing*!

(The date says May as I did it a while ago and only uploaded the pics today.)

BREAKFAST BLOSSOMS!

First we need bread, celery, balogna and eggs (Yes, picture only shows two of those items. Sorry! XD)

Cut the bologna into flower petal shapes and separate the egg yokes from the whites and fry both up. Try to keep the yoke from breaking if you can!

Cut a celery stalk in half to make a nice thin stem and toast some bread and cut it into leaf shapes and then put it all together!

This makes a great and fun meal for kids, a great way to make someone smile and a perfect Mother's Day Breakfast! Bon Appetit!

Note: It was all very tasty and nothing was tossed. Scraps and flowers all got eaten up! No food wastage in this household! No siree!

I baked some pancakes, folded them, and put them in the ice cream cone. I call it pancake rose ;p
