Okay, I'll join! ^^
I'm sorry that I haven't improved much, but I hope you at least enjoy reading it a little bit. :3

The Carving Man

Peter's garden was kept safe behind a tall wooden fence. Hugging tightly the short rows of strawberries and tomatoes, the thick border of pumpkins was the best kept, their leaves shining with fresh water while the other plants were brown and dead. The few shriveled strawberries were long too late to be harvested. Alongside the door to Peter's house were several bags of groceries too large to fit among the thousands of pumpkins littering his floor. He was working on a project.

Peter's wife had divorced him several months earlier due to her claim that he was "too distracted by other matters" to pay attention to their relationship. He was enraged by her inability to see his emotions, even if they were badly expressed. He wanted her back.

The soft scrape, scrape, of his knife against the shells of pumpkin was not the only noise in his house. Short sobs and mutterings were sometimes uttered by the carving man. He was drowned in his hatred, his hatred towards his old wife.

As the black maw of midnight advanced upon his house, Peter's project grew closer and yet closer to completion, and his emotions flooded further and further over his heavy heart until it was submerged and he was drowning. Heavy breaths became louder and his eyes wilder. His twisted mind was set on one thing, and not the calls of insanity nor the claws from the fingers of hunger could drive him from it.

When the blood of dawn spilled over the horizon, a new pumpkin was sitting in Peter's garden.

Peter, Peter, pumpkin eater,
Had a wife but couldn't keep her;
He put her in a pumpkin shell
And there he kept her very well.

1. Ring Around the Rosies

I'm not going to mess with it anymore. Here's my story. As a warning for those who wish to read it, it contains a pretty graphic, gory scene. The story is actually based on a real disease, the Marburg virus. The only thing I really changed was the kill rate.
