this girly needs a name. I won her randomly in the pick a door game and someone was generous enough to give me a gender swapper to make the stout male into a petit female <3

I did see the name, Mystic, and I thank you for the suggestion. I'm definitely thinking about it. The only trouble is, the "Maculosa" part makes me think of a number of eye diseases, such as macular degeneration. Simply calling him "Spotted Dolphin" might work, except that makes him look like he's the son of Britters's "Dolphin." (Britters, would you mind?)

Currently, I'm also toying with the name "Rosy Future,' which is the name of a delphinium variety that won an award from the Royal Horticultural Society in England. The name refers to both his color and his Carried Flower Vines (which will only appear in his future offspring).

No, I don't mind if you choose a name that is related to the "dolphin" thing. I think its a creative route to go, you know? Different from just choosing a variety of Delphiniums. :)

So, I have a few new things to add to this thread. I acquired this AMAZING offspring girl from an auction in the forum. Both of her parents are tagged, and I just love her. Instead of trying to find a name for her myself I'm putting her up for ideas from you guys! ^.^

Also, just a little bit of a show-off. I know this is a thread for Delphinium Nixis, but I got my first Camellia Vulnyx from another thread, and as soon as I saw her lynx tail I thought of Dolphin, and so now the two of them are hanging out next to each other in my garden. I'm not someone who makes up stories for my pets very often, but I'm totally thinking of getting a piece of artwork of the two of them together. My little stubby tail beauties. :)

Aren't they cute together! If anyone wants to suggest names for the Vulnyx as well, I'm totally open to suggestions. Thank you!

I think we can declare Camellia Lavinia an honorary Delphinium.

Honestly, I'm just going to have to plant some delphiniums next spring.

Pink Punch's egg hatched out into a girl--

She has her mother's Cross Fox Hidden under her father's Paint, plus Carried Feathered Wings (Stripes) from her mother and Carried Glowing Stripes from her father. So far, her father (who I think needs a name) has had nothing but girls.

However, she now has a name--"Strawberry Fair."

A name? Hmmm...Strawberry Milk? Or...Strawberry Puddles? I'm not very good at the whole naming thing. Lol

Oh my, she's beautiful! Maybe Silky, or Silken Whispers, something with a soft sound to the name?

Esylana's suggestion to somebody else ("Silky," "Silken Whispers") inspired me to think of a couple of names suitable for any Delph Nixi with the Enchanted Butterfly trait.

First, I thought of "Butterfly Dust." That's the tiny amount of wing scales a butterfly sometimes leaves behind on a perch. I think butterfly dust may have inspired J.M. Barrie to come up with "pixie dust."

So, "Butterfly Dust" might make a good name.

Then I thought of something I learned when I was a child. I was taught not to catch butterflies, because I could kill them accidentally, but to tempt them to land on my hand. According to what I was taught, if the butterfly landed on my hand, it meant the butterfly trusted me not to hurt it, and it would leave a tiny amount of glittery dust behind as a sign of that trust.

Of course, the truth is that a healthy butterfly will often leave a little scatter of dust on anything it lands upon. But it's a good story and helps teach kids not to hurt butterflies.

Therefore, "Butterfly Trust" might also make a good name.

Two more!

These are the daughter and son of my Lucky Runes/Twisted Root Armor todd, Sionn MorwchFflur ("fox dolphin-flower"). Each of these pups has Hidden Twisted Root Armor under their Vis Pearl Armor.
