No they cannot. If any parental bond is made (siblings, half-siblings, one pet is the parent of the other) they will be unable to breed. :)

May I ask where you can get those Essences? Which shop do you turn to?

Essences can be obtained through the Diamond Shop, purchased from other players in the Trade Broker (just look at the "Type" option where it will say "Relic" by default, and change it to "Essence" which is 6 options down), or the regular and enhanced essences can very rarely be awarded by killing a pet of that species out in the battlefield, or by nurturing an eggling or hatchling of that species. :)

do you NEED essence to start a project, because I'd like to do one but don't have esscence.
