It would give x amount of full days instead of a half day. People wouldnt need to hold of nurturing things till boards start and possibly mess themselves up by nurturing before they start. Part of the reason why i do ask is that 12am is 5pm for me. These contests boards started at 5pm x2 and will start at 2am for the 3rd round. These times are great for people in the US but dont benefit many other countries. Old Katt was awake at those times but katt of now sleeps around midnight xD

It unfortunately is just one of those things where there is no perfect solution because we obviously have players from all over the world (and who have all sorts of different lifestyles within those time zones). So, in general, we try and somewhat cater to where the majority of players can benefit.

With things like our now Pick a Door series, we are much more flexible because players can only participate in one game. Therefore, we can have them at all sorts of days/times to try and hit every possible time zone/daily schedule. With Leaderboard contests though, it obviously doesn't really work that way.

No matter what we pick as start/end times, there will be players who won't like it. So, in general, we try to offer some flexibility to start days/start times but still have the times be where the bulk of our playerbase (about 80-85% play in North America) can feasibly access them.

Regarding end times, it's kind of same concept. Ending contests at midnight server time just works out the best for the vast majority of the playerbase. It's when nurtures reset for the day. Midnight server time is only 10 PM for west coasters. If we had the contest end at say, 6 PM server time, west coast players wouldn't even be off of work in time to get home before the contests ended.

It's just one of those things that's very tough to find a perfect balance, because it doesn't really exist. No matter what the times are, a group of players will be getting the short end of the stick. =\

Hey all,
I have a question. I joined Sylestia last month so I'm new and this was my first event. I'm a little confused about how reward pets from the contests are claimed or if you just recieve them automatically? I placed 5th in the enemies defeated Lupora contest that ended at midnight. The reward says it's a 2 vis Winter Dawn Lupora. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to claim it from somewhere as I haven't seen it show up yet and I wasn't sure what to expect. I also noticed that in the overview here it says that a pet is only awarded through 4th place but on the contest page the reward lined up with 5th says 2-visible pet so was that a typo or is a mistake? Any help is much appreciated, thank you!

at some point, probably within the next 24 hours, Krin will manually parse the prizes for the boards and send them out, at which point you'll get a notification in your Overview, the leaderboard reward pouch will go to your player trades, and any prize pet eggs will go to your hatchery

We are extending the soft and hard closing dates for the Winter Festival. The Winter Festival will now soft close after Wednesday, January 19th and will fully close after Sunday, January 30th. This will hopefully give players a little bit of extra time to get things done that they may not have had time to do yet - such as Forum Games!
