"Saving your life? Hm, I don't think that's what I did, it would have hurt a lot, but you wouldn't have died," he replies matter-of-factly, fiddling with a pin on his coat that looks like a cross between a compass and a clock.
I laugh awkwardly, brushing myself off a little. "Heh. Reassuring, then."

"If you think so," he says cryptically. He glances at his watch hurriedly. "You have to try not to let it happen again, alright?"
You can't help but feel that the last sentence was a bit strange, but then someone runs past you, causing you to lose your balance for a split second. You blink to find that he's already walked away, presumably.

(P u n s)
That morning, much hadn't been going on. It had been pretty cloudy outside, but hey, what was to stop you from reading? Maybe it'd been for the best, actually, because it was pretty hard to read with the sun shining in your eyes. You'd gotten kicked out of the park before for feeding the ducks and conveniently ignoring the sign that warned you against it, but you were pretty sure they didn't remember you.
You dropped your book, the moment the tremors started and rushed to pick it up, then noticing that the sky had gotten much darker. You looked up at the clouds, but there was nothing there. In fact, it was as if the sky had just been replaced with empty void, or something.
There was a cracking sound and you looked up to find the tree over your head come crashing down, looking weirdly warped.
Then you suddenly blink awake to find yourself in bed, nowhere near the park. It seems as though you dreamed the entire thing, except it feels extremely real, and nothing like how dream usually feel when you wake up from them. But it had to be a dream, right?

(bahaha! truly)
I stand there on the sidewalk for a second, staring. .....what in the.....
I don't want to get nearly run over again, though, and so I follow the crowd in hopes of finding somewhere a little less bustling.

Only one way to find out!
Eleni jumped out of bed, checking the time before getting ready to start the day. You know, normal stuff. Then she just had to find that book she was readig-if it was in her apartment the dream was definitely not real.
