The dwarf's joy was once again infectious. Malak found himself smiling, feeling glad that he was going to get to help the shop owner. The offer of the scimitar took him aback slightly.
"A weapon would certainly be of assistance," Malak said to Borgken, "If you feel like you can entrust me with it I would gladly accept. Now, is there anything we need to know?"
(Yeah, I go more into detail about magic on the mega thread, but that's not done yet :P.)
The old woman nods and watches you leave with a smile. The town outside is bustling with many people trying to sell their wares. There were more merchants than you could ever imagine, as well as a young boy playing with a toy horse and a human-looking woman leaning against a wall.

Borgken took the scimitar and placed it in your hands. You almost got the feeling he was avoiding your question. He rubbed his hands together, and out of his skin it seemed, he conjured a small blue stone, roughly cut and not very pretty. "This," he told you, "is a Promise. Orcs value glory. Humans value money. Elves value currency. Dwarfs value Promises. Either you or your partner will have to have this stone bound to them. It's no big deal, really. All it does is, if you leave the mountains while the stone is bound to you, then you become ill with a disease that kills you within a few days unless you return to the dwarf to whom you made the Promise and become imprisoned for life or fulfill the Promise. Breaking a Promise is the worst sin one can achieve," he warned you. "Who would you like to wear the Promise?"
a) You will wear the Promise
b) Elysetta will wear the Promise
You take the Fairs without any trouble on your part. What do you wish to do?
a) Continue in the mountains
b) Go elsewhere
c) Say something
d) Leave
e) Other
Shrugging, Julien pocketed the money and looked at his two companions, secretly a bit jealous of the way Aylen was perched on the orc's broad shoulder.
a) Continue in the mountains
"I don't know where this path leads," he admitted. "But shall we continue?"

The feeling in the room took on a very serious atmosphere. Malak was aware that what the dwarf said was not meant to be taken lightly. He glanced over at Elysetta as Borgken spoke, wondering what her thoughts about it all was. However, when the dwarf mentioned the terrible disease that would befall the person wearing the Promise if they strayed from the mountain, Malak spoke before he had fully processed the question the dwarf asked.
"I will do it," he stated simply.
a.) You will wear the Promise

The dwarf's smile returned to his face once again. "There we have it, then," he chuckled. Elysetta stiffened beside you at your choice, and you could practically feel her glaring at you. Borgken pressed the Promise gently right above your heart, and then it absorbed through your clothing and embedded itself in your skin. It hurt briefly, just a flash of pain, and then you could no longer feel it. It was still sticking out of your chest, though.
What do you wish to do?
a) Continue speaking
b) Leave the shop
c) Leave the city
d) Other

Malak realized that his decision had been made rather hastily, but even upon further pondering he knew that he would have made the same choice had he taken more time before answering. His childish fantasies of what his relationship with Elysetta could possibly be might have been quelled, but in his mind that was all for the better. She was unattainable to him, but she was still the most beautiful and wonderful being he had ever met, and his feelings of responsibility to her wellbeing was not unlike a knight to his queen. He would protect her, by any means necessary.
a.) Continue speaking
"I thank you, sir," he said to Borgken, "What is the most expedient way to get to the other clan's home?"

(No! He was wanting to be closer to Aylen <.<)
c) Consult your companions
Julien's gaze flitted quickly across the word. "What do you think, guys? I mean, last time we ignored a suspicious sign, we found Aylen." He grinned at the doll, waiting to see what she and Ruk - but mostly she - would think.

Borgken handed you a small compass out of his pocket. "The largest of the Nioro cities, Tek, is due southeast a couple miles or so. I suggest you catch the night at an inn here first, though. I'd rather have you well and healthy for you to find my daughter," he answered.
What do you wish to do?
a) Continue speaking
b) Leave to find an inn
c) Leave Vor
d) Other
