(So the way the stat checks work is the guard (or other NPC) has a set value usually between 0 and your stat. Anything above their stat value passes the check with good results, anything below fails. A fail doesn't mean everything goes south, it just means things get harder. If the stat check = the NPC stat, it's kind of a stalemate.)

The appearance of a third unknown person drops the guard's confidence. His boss's patrons are powerful people, and the newest arrival's frustration seems to be genuine.

Required charisma: 20. Player's combined charisma: 44. Players scored a 1.

(Ngl I cried a bit I'm so sorry I can't make this up omg)

The guard decides to call bull. He frowns. "Forgot your IDs? I can see forgetting the papers, but I'll have to radio the boss on this one." He reaches for his radio...

Quick! Do something!

At least 1 player must respond in the next hour! Start time: 10:09 End time: 12:00

Well, this is just great. I facepalm. At least something is happening now. Without further thought, I walk out into the open.
"For your own safety, it's be really nice if you didn't."
It was an empty threat - as long as I don't have any weapons, I won't be able to severely injure the guard. I could whack him a few times with my bow, but he's probably armed and, as much as I love to take these types of risks, I'd really prefer it if it doesn't come at the cost of my life.
But I still make a show of pointing my bow at him and reaching for my non-existent arrows behind my back, poised to either flee or fight, depending on how this will all play out.

Sai hisses like a cat and immediately goes to slap the guard's hand away from his radio or perhaps slap the radio away from the guard, whichever he ended up maybe doing since he batted at the guard twice. He hadn't thought this through and his stance shifts back to become defensive even though he'd probably have to become offensive if he wants the guard to not get to his radio. He's glad when Lilith steps up to help, feeling like an idiot even if the others hadn't taken notice in his reaction to what the guard had done.

Ah, thank god for Lilith!

The guard seems intimidated. He has no weapon other than a walkie-talkie and a beer belly.

Guard's deception: 5. Lilith's deception: 15. Score: 6. Lilith succeeds in deceiving the guard.

The guard is intimidated by Sai's show of aggression. He holds up his hands. "I- I- don't have any weapons. Just- don't hurt me! I'll do what you want!"

What will you have the guard do?

(LMAO, also thanks for clarifying xP)

Well, that slightly backfired. Lark sees the guard reaching for the radio and instinctively goes for their weapon, not quite sure what they'll do with it once it's drawn, but Lilith is faster. Hm, another more-than-useless person on this mission. That might be a first.
Lark draws their sword anyways, though doesn't point it at the guard- wanting to actually be able to back up Lilith's threat if it comes to that, but also feeling slightly bad about threatening the brainless guard. They know he wouldn't hesitate to call the police or whomever, but they might feel less guilty if he were actually willing to fight them. But seriously, what kind of guard doesn't have a weapon?
"You are going to tell us the passcode for the door," they say steadily with a glance at Lio, feeling stupidly like they're trying to calm a panicked animal, "And, uh," they find themselves hurriedly looking at Lilith for help, because she seems much better at the threatening thing. "Turn and face the wall?"

(When I realize Lilith actually does have arrows xD)

I attempt to keep a straight face, somewhat successfully, keeping my bow pointed at him. I blink, surprised, as my hand bumps into the fletching of an arrow. I shrug and pull it out, nocking it onto the bowstring. At least I could make good on my threat now, even if forgetting about my own weapons makes me look like a complete idiot.
"Just tell us the passcode and we'll leave you alone, unharmed. For the most part."
Actually, my plan was to knock him out and toss him into some dark corner, but I kept that thought to myself.

(*panicks becaus ei dodnt remmeber if lio had a weapon that isnt his tougnur*)

"Yeah, pascode. Or i could hack it and you cna explain to your boss how the lock was broken. The law's a finicky thing and youll probably get blamed if anything looks wrong. But if you let us in, you can jsut play innocent." Lio smirks.

Florian curses and emerges from the alleyway. "Did someone say passcode? Seems to me you're gonna need some manpower."
