~Dobhar~Firepack~Outside Camp~

She didn't say anything but her expression told him she was listening.
"As I said the position of beta is open however, I'm not going to appoint some random stranger. You should lay low and stay out of camp untill our visitors leave. Then and only then should you introduce yourself to the pack."

He paused a moment to gauge her reaction.

"After that it's simply a matter of getting to know you and what you can do. Keep in mind that I'll be keeping a close eye on you as well as the rest of the pack during this time. Oh, and don't think I'm forcing you to stay. If you want to back out, that's fine by me just... let me know first so I have an opportunity to smooth things over."

He was about to dismiss himself and return to the camp to discuss borders with Storm when he remembered somthing.

"One more thing, don't mention that I offered you the beta position. For now you are just another new addition to the pack."

She shrugged and said "Ok, whatever". With that, she stretched herself out and and nudged the nest towards Dobhar. "Say that I asked to join, and offered this as a treaty." She said as she climbed into the tree.

~Dobhar~Firepack~Firepack Camp~

"Alright then, I'll do that." Dobhar picked up the nest and returned to the centre of the camp.
"No worries, she was just intrested in joining our pack. She'll be staying out of the way untill this meeting is over." he said addressing everyone but looking straight at Storm.

He raised his voice and spoke above the chatter to everyone in the camp. "Now, let's feast!"

Swinging her tail lazily as she listened to the meeting go on, she yawned and busied herself with grooming and cleaning herself to perfection.

(forgive me if this post is poorly written. I spent 20 minutes writing it and then my internet crashed)

~Dobhar~Firepack~Firepack Camp~

Once the feasting was over the atmosphere immediately became much more serious. It was time get to the real reason for this meeting. Dobhar turned to Storm, he didn't need to raise his voice to be heard. Everyone from both packs had gone silent and was watching the two alphas carefully.

"Now, down to business. As you are all most surely aware both of our packs have been violating each others borders more and more frequently since the beginning of this plague. Food is scarce, that is undeniable but that does not mean we should turn on our fellow dog."
Dobhar turned his attention to the crowd, after all this matter was not just about the two alphas.

"And so, we should do our best to make peace. I know that peace can be a difficult thing to achieve, and I do not expect us to settle all of our problems in one night. Tonight we discuss the matter of our borders nothing more, nothing less. It is a small thing, this is true. But one small step can be the beginning of a much better tomorrow."

With this last sentence Dobhar turned and looked directly at Storm.

"Yes. I agree, you should stay out of our territory." Storm said not feeling the need to explain the implied. "And how dare you complain too me about food problems when you have enough to keep a healthy population of rouges and feed two packs." A bit of a growl seeping into his voice as he showed one of his more troublesome faults. His pride, making him very easy to insult.

~Dobhar~Firepack~Firepsck Camp~

Not good. Judging by the looks on the faces of the other waterpack dogs this was not out of character for their alpha though, quite a few looked ashamed, disappointed or even embarrassed and angry. Obviously they had been hoping that their leader would be a bit more reasonable. In all honesty Dobhar had to fight down his anger towards Storm's outwardly aggressive response to his packs hospitality. After all after tonight's feast there was no food left at all it could be days before any of his pack would eat again.

"Tonight has been unusually fortuitous in the way of food I will admit but, this meeeting is about settling things for tomorrow. For now we must discuss just how we should deal with our borders."

~Agni~Firepack~Firepack Camp~

Agni fought hard not to jump right out and take down that scrawny little upstart herself. How dare he! After all they had gon through to make this meeting happen. She and her hunters had tracked that stag's scent for two days without any food. Dobhar had allowed Storm the alphas share of the kill, he had invited them into their own camp for heavens sake!
Agni turned her gaze to Dobhar as he began to speak. She gained a little comfort from his slight change in body language, somthing you wouldn't have noticed unless you knew him well. His tail lifted slightly and the fur around his neck ruffled ever so slightly from a well suppressed growl. Though his tone was firmer he did not allow his words to demonstrate his anger.

Kodi~male~Firepack

Pigs everyone of them. He huffed as the deer was turned to nothing but bones before him. It had been three days since he last ate and even then it had been a pitiful meal of a swallow he had managed to snatch from a low hanging branch. He sighed before laying his head down for a quick nap. Nearly asleep he hardly noticed Juniper as she came sniffing up to him. The feeling of her could wet nose against his was enough to wake him. "Juniper? What do you want?" He said with a yawn. Kodi's voice was deep and strong like a rolling thunder. Most ran at the sound though this little pup didn't.
"I brought you something!" She yipped shoving the dead grass hopper his way. "I caught it for myself but I thought you needed it more being a hunter and all." Her tail wagged about happily as she watched him glance at her with an amusing look before eating the bug.
"I thank you Juniper." He said standing and yawning. "That was very kind of you. But you don't have to worry about me. I'll manage."

Sasha~female~ Her den near Firepack

Again her stomach growled as she lay upon the bed of leaves she had made. How long could she go on like this? Already she felt the weight of the pups she carried weighing her down not to mention how tired she felt. With a yawn she stood stretching a bit. Food, she needed food desperately. On sore paws she walked out of the log like den, squeezing through the half buried door. That would be hard to do if her stomach grew any bigger. Shaking that thought from her mind she trotted off to the puddle she drank from. After having a drink the female took a long smell of the air. Blood, faint but it was the smell of blood and it smelt amazing. Nose to the ground she tracked the smell to what she call Death. It was a whole pack of dogs, many larger than her, though some were much smaller. The smell of food was tempting, too tempting even. She had to eat. Crouching she circled the den making her way to the kill. Run in run out...easy enough. Carefully she crept forward hoping no one say as she made her way to the kill.

Eci listened from the branch she had first appeared from, studying the two packs. The Water pack dogs seemed not to stand with their Alpha in choice of wording, as several were shaking their heads a bit, and the Fire pack dogs were bristling at the Water pack alpha. She paid attention to both of the Alpha's body language, and determined that Dobhar was trying to keep his anger down, from the way his tail was higher and his chest bristled more. Storm seemed to be struggling to keep himself from exploding, and she came to the conclusion his pride was injured. She chuckled to herself and laid her head down, only half listening to the debate.
