You follow the smell, and come across the body of a male dwarf who looks very much like Ragna did. His face had broken out into boils oozing green pus that was giving off the stench.
What do you wish to do?
a) Examine the body
b) Search his pockets

Malak had never felt so low. He was so lost in his grief at his own uselessness in this new world he found himself in. Back in the desert he had had a purpose, he was respected because he was a man,
and also feared because he was a man. It was the latter that had driven him to leave, and he had been foolish enough to believe that he could make a new life for himself elsewhere, free from the confines of his upbringing.
How wrong he had been...
With his head still buried in his arms, Malak could hear what Elysetta was saying but it was difficult for him to process her words. He became aware of her presence only when she rested her hand on his shoulder. He flinched involuntarily, but he maintained enough control to remain where he was, though his muscles were so tense his arm shook ever so slightly. He slowly brought his head up to look at her.
"I am not sure freedom is possible for me," he started, his tone blank, "There are so many things that I wish to forget from my childhood, but they always seem to be there, not matter how hard I try. Perhaps I was so determined to help you because I knew that I would never be able to help myself."

Elysetta shook her head slowly at you. "Two years ago, I thought I would never be able to overcome the shame. The hurt. The betrayal. Everything that led up to my situation. I thought for sure I was going to die in that little clearing. But you helped me. And believe it or not, Malak Khaleel, I can help you. You can be free. You were taught one way, and you can still learn more ways. You are still capable of learning, and of training your mind, trust me."

"Well that's the worst possible thing that could have happened." *she sighs* "I do not think that touching the ol' boy will be a good idea, so perhaps I can find a stick about some where to move him about a bit..." *she will look around for a stick or something she can use to move him without touching him so she can at least get a good look around to report back.* "Yuck"

You poke at him and move him around with the stick. Whatever he died of, you don't know if it's contagious. As you move him, you see a small golden pendant around his neck.
What do you wish to do?
a) Keep searching
b) Grab the pendant
c) Touch the body
d) Leave the body
e) Other

"Well, I'm sure Ragna would recognize the pendant...I should try and get that for her...but how I don't want to get this..." *she will sit and ponder a moment, and then try to work the stick in between flesh and necklace and pop the necklace off, then move over and collect that with another bit of torn shirt, careful to wrap it up well.* "I am sorry, sir, your daughter did make it to safety." *she will look about a bit longer, for anything else that may be of importance to the little girl.*
b) Grab the pendant(sorta)

Malak took a deep, shuddering breath, embarrassed by the level of emotion he was exhibiting,
but trying his hardest not to chastise himself too much. He had to try making an effort to change his behavior or his dreams of a better life would die in this room.
"Well," he began, his voice becoming steadier, "I am very fortunate to have come across you in that clearing,
and I hope that I will not force you to abandon me as I try to relearn how to behave in this world." For perhaps the first time since either of them woke up, Malak glanced around the room again and spoke about their situation. "Do you have any idea what grabbed us? Or where we are?"

Elysetta followed your gaze, examining the room. She seemed slightly uneasy as you asked about the situation. "Well... I don't know for certain, but it does remind me of a story my parents would tell me as a little girl to encourage me to be a good person," she revealed. "I thought it was all folly, just a tale to scare me into doing the right thing. But... there might be more to it," she added.

"This is a sad day" *she whispers softly a prayer over the dead dwarf's body and then will return to Ilamoor to let the young dwarf know what happened. Hopefully someone would be able to take her in.*
a) Return to Ilamoor
