Scarlet's fur mae her look like a porqupine again with all her fur standing on end. She backs down and tries to make her escape. Her paws a blur she runs as fast as she can away from the wolves.

"Ah. It's the nature of mankind. We hate and love, live and die. Lets just hope we make it to the door... Or maybe find out about the witches?" Grey says.

"If the wolves heard us I'm sure we would be dead meat already... So let's go after Grey!... And the rest of course." Hunter amends.

Scarlet was out of hearing range by that time because of her fright.

"I am quite curious about this witch," Mrs. Mouse mused. I've been in the Menagerie far longer than most sane animals, so that wolf must have been old as well, enough to have lost a little of his morals if not his sanity. I've heard rumors, but..." She shook her head. "If possible, I'd like to find my way out of here without having to learn though!" If they could avoid any witches entirely, it would benefit them all.

When Scarlet took off, Jay was still on her back. He dug his feet in, not having anything else to keep hold with. "Scarlet! Calm down! We're leaving Hunter behind!" He felt dizzy from the quick sprint, not sure where they had taken off too. He thought the wolves went the other direction, but now even he felt like the enemy ran right behind them, leaving his tiny bird heart going too fast. "I'm too young to die!"

Little did Jay know he echoed Scarlet's thoughts as she kept running as a blurring pace. Fear fed her speed more then the energy she had. Guiltily Hunter was the last person on Scarlet's mind as she ran on. Fed by instints of flight or fight she chose the most sensible method flight from the hungry, prowling predators.

August dipped his head in agreement. "I second that. I think we all have enough trouble to deal with as it is. the last thing we need is a supernatural force working against us."

"And I thought magic wasn't real." loki noted.

Jay tried to hold on, he really did, but as Scarlet's speed increased, he finally lost his grip. When Scarlet went around a corner, he went right into the wall, squawking with indignation. "Scarlet!" By the time he scurried back up, she was gone and he looked around, realizing that nothing followed them. He lowered his wings, looking around at a loss. "Were we just running away blindly? Ah geez, now I've lost both Hunter and Scarlet!" Right when they found the others too. Hopefully Hunter did the sensible thing and ran after them or at least called out to Gray to get their help.

"Well, magic is just science we don't understand yet, right?" August replied.

Mrs. Mouse shook her head. "I used to think the same thing, but then I came upon this place. Perhaps it's not magic, but it's definitely out of the ordinary. Whoever is pulling the strings here doesn't want us to know the answers. If that's not the definition of a witch, then I don't know what is!" she exclaimed. The problem was finding just who did orchestrate this.
