After the line was secure, Jay nodded his little head. "I...I think so. Wish me luck?" With another look around the room, he decided that there was no reason to hesitate any longer. He launched himself from the window as fast as his little wings could take him.

For one second, he was flying through open air, full of city smells and a rush of noise. But then there was a flash of golden light and he was through, coming straight at a beam of light that illuminated familiar marble floors and lush green vines around a circular rail.

"Pull back! Pull me back!" Jay yelled, not sure if his friends could hear him when he didnt appear to be anywhere near where he started. But at the very least, the cord was still tied around his foot, connected him beyond the haze of golden light.

Scarlet felt the pull of the rope as she pulled back to get Jay back. She hoped her theory was right otherwise this just created a whole new set of problems on top of the ones they already had. Scarlet pulls back on the rope steadily knowing if she jerked the rope might break and Jay would get hurt. Hoping she pulls and looks at the window.

August hopped up onto the window sill, peering out and feathers rustling with anticipation as Scarlet worked to pull Jay back in.

Scarlet glances at August before trying to speak with the rope in her mouth, "See him?" She hoped Jay was alright.

Jay came stumbling back out of the other space with the help of Scarlet, very quickly landing on the window sill. "Woah, woah! Did you guys see any of that?! I was flying and then suddenly I was somewhere else in The Menagerie! Did I disappear to you guys?" He shuddered, not all that pleased with what happened. But now that he was back and on solid ground it was starting to make him wonder. "I should go back and see if there's a place for all of us to land. It's still inside this stinking maze but at least it's out of here."

Scarlet frowns, "Yes you did disappear to us but I don't think you should go back. You could have gotten badly hurt or very possibly worse. Think about it Jay even if we moved from here we'd still be in danger."

August chirruped softly. "How much more danger, Scarlet?" He pondered aloud.

"I'd say that at this point, we have nowhere else to go that wouldn't put us in danger of being captured by the Witch, and it's not as if we can die in here. The danger of getting injured or more lost or captured is present no matter what we decide..." He craned his neck, peering out the window. "...So I would argue that the risk of going back out is worth taking. It's definitely better than wasting time trying to find an alternate route that may be just as dangerous... or worse, not even exist."

He glanced over at the other animals in the room. "But what say you?"

Scarlet listens to August, "Alright you've made your point clear and thank you for reminding me that we can't die in here. I agree with you it's just I'm worried about what's on the other side." She looks out the window again, "How are we all going to get out?"

August ruffled up his feathers. "I suppose you and those without wings would have to jump."

Scarlet shrinks down, "I was afraid you were going to say that."
