"Alright," Jay said. "And we definitely shouldn't split up this time. Once we catch up with the others, we should make sure they know it as well. Fluttering up, he went toward the stairs, trying to get a view of the top. "So we agree that it's better to go this way than follow behind?" Although he wasn't too sure if it would lead to where the wolves went rather than a new location entirely.

Red gave his largest grin. "You can say what you want about equalities, but all packs have a leader. I would have made you my second, but suit yourself. I know you won't last in this world. You probably have lofty ideas about getting out, but I'm making a place where I can stay. Motioning to the other wolves, they each turned to flank the other group, not near enough to attack, but nonetheless a casual threat. "Maybe next time we meet, if you've faced off against the witch, I'll tell you a real secret!" With a last wild howl, he charged straight for the center of their group.

August's eyes pinned in shock. A primal urge screamed at him to flee, but the sane side of him refused to leave the group he had stumbled across. The chances of finding others like him seemed slim.
He couldn't move.
Nooo no no no no no... This was a terrible idea, we can't fight them...

No. Let them come. Adapt.

"Yes we all agree that it's best to go that way instead of following the wolves. What do you see up there Jay,'' Scarlet asks as she begins to climb the steps. Her fure begins to look more like a red fox's then a quilled creature.

Night and loki stopped arguing long enough to do one thing: duck. Loki shoved Mrs. Mouse out of the way.

Mrs. Mouse went tumbling to the ground, full well expecting one of them to get mauled. She'd seen her friends get killed in this world, had even died herself once. Even knowing she would come back, fear still coursed through her little body. Would she have to start over again? Find her group from the very beginning? Would she lose another chance to find the door?

However, the red wolf charged right through, kicking up grass and howling, but not charging at anyone who didn't duck away. The other wolves also just ran around them, then straight down another hall.

"I-!" Mrs. Mouse gasped, unable to catch her breath after that. "Those wolves are unbelievable! I thought someone would die for sure!"

Jay had just reached the top of the stairs when another series of howls shook the walls. He darted up, as high as he could in the open air. "What in the world?! The wolves! I can see them! There's a room down below and I can see the other too!" he exclaimed, so aflutter that he surely drew all the attention to himself, enemy and friends alike.

Scarlet tries to reach up and pull Jay down, "Jay get down here you'll be spotted by everyone." her voice shook when she heard the wolves. "Jay please get back here."

"Sorry 'bout the flal ma'am." Loki offered.

"Haven't we all?" Night mutterd.

"I think Red still had a type of respect for us, though I'm positive I'm feeling quite like a mouse in a cats game right now." Grey admitted.

Hunter looks up at Jay. "You can?! Can you spot Grey? Are they safe?"

Jay squawked when he realized his mistake. Diving down, he landed on Scarlet's back, trying to make a nest in her fun despite the fact that his blue color still stood out. This is what he got for being flashy though. "Ah seriously, why did I say that so loud? Do you think the wolves heard us?" It was hard to tell without looking, but a few of the wolves definitely did look up in their direction, the leader pausing for a second before vanishing from sight. Whatever just happened down below, it seemed like it was already over. He peeked out again. "I'm sure I saw Gray though. I think they're alright?"

Mrs. Mouse dusted herself off before offering Loki a smile. "Thank you for your concern, dear. and you're quite alright. I think we all received quite a fright." Despite her brave words, it was clear from her voice that she hadn't recovered completely. "Gray, I think you're right in that they respect us, or at least fear us for now. I will take that move as the challenge that it was though. We should be careful from this point on. Apparently, even the sane can make enemies of us."

Loki and Night had resumed their tail-riffic argument.
