Mermydon listened to Kanakwella, and offered her the respect of his full attention. He gave thought to it. "I think your cousin is rather an oddity, even among zolnixi kind, if you'll excuse my saying so princess." He began turning himself in Kanakwella's direction and driving her into the lake. "It's best we get going at the moment, and trust that Geb and Heroine will get them to move with us." There was no doubt in his mind that Aleria would follow in due time. He took the time to call back over his shoulder to the others, Geb in particular. "We will be looking for you at the dock in two hours!" Once the mares were deep enough to submerge, Mermydon took one look back to see if Geb or Heroine was starting to herd them East. He really didn't want to waste anymore time encouraging others to follow their path. They would either come of their own interest or not, though he hoped they would.

Metal and Grim Rose wished to help but didn't know what to do so they just hung around. Grim Rose played with the flowers nearby only to have Metal send loving glances her way. Grim Rose laughed and sneezed from the pollen.

How long had it been since that horrible day at the lake? Days, no. More like weeks. Time was one of the many things Raka spent his time pondering, as he had little else to do. He had long since tuned out the musings of the world around him. How other sylesti would take notice of his strange slithering gate, point and make fun. No he was far past giving in to such taunting, he had been for most of his life now. However now more than ever, for he had more important things on his mind. It was for this reason that he did not sense how dangerously close he cad come to them. It was the splash of submerging bodies that finally alerted him to the presence of others. He froze. There were voices, and quite a few of them at that. Danger? Or could there be prey nearby? The thought of hunting was still a bit odd to him, as he had been raised on a Quitari's diet. But since his wandering began he no longer knew which plants were safe to eat for he had travelled such a distance. The first time he consumed meat was... strange. The remains of a faelora, though he had never even thought of eating another animal before something inside him had no such qualms. But, returning himself to his current situation, there was also water. As partial as he was to life on land, he could not pass up the allure of the waters. So he drew closer to the sound and smell of the water, keeping a safe distance all the while hesitant, from the lessons taught to him by his quitari family to make himself known before the whole situation was clear to him...
