The carrot eating buck's reply was most amusing, in a backwards sort of mind set. "...I don't think the offer is yours to make. I will accompany you.., however I would have to get a pledge that neither me nor the female,.. will be harmed." he said straight to the point.

The prey was actually trying to barter for Mermydon's protection for himself and Little Red. And it was obvious, looking into his eyes, that Mermydon was thinking clearly about what had just transpired, and not just for its humorous entertainment. Geb genuinely was offering to become bait, in exchange for protection and the little leveret factory hadn't caught on yet! And he had made no addendum when Little Red spoke up for Meir either, so he took it before anything else transpired. "DONE!" He exclaimed.

Lowering his fins, dropping his head slightly and closing his eyes, he began quietly to recite something from memory. The pearls that faceted his helm and kelp armor started to glow, then radiate a brilliant off white pearl colored light for a moment then returned to the dull yellow that seemed to be drawing packets of light they way they did before. In front of Mermydon's chest pearl was a small orb, slightly larger than the pearl on his chest, but it looked awash and transparent like a small globe of water. It was the color of his flesh but light played upon it's surface as though looking up from the depths at the surface. He grabbed the orb in his mouth and placed it in Little Red's free paw. Then while she stared at the gift, Mermydon swiftly slipped his head over hers and bit onto her scruff and lifted her off the ground! With a flick of his head he pitched her feet over head in a lobbing pitch directly for Geb to catch her.

By the time she came down he was telling Geb. "Here is your doe, may she keep you happy during our journey. My kind will have to travel by water so we may not always be visible to you. Just invoke that pearl and I will know where you are and come to your aid. I'm certain a couple tasty morsels like you will attract much bigger and tastier morsels for me and mine to feast upon." He looked over at Metal and Grim Rose who had their backs to each other apparently. Their problem was their own. "You might find those two useful in a scrap," Mermydon told Geb regarding the ryori, "and your doe's cub has a good nose for rustling up food. So mayhaps you can get them heading East with you? I will take mine that way and will rendezvous at the dock not more than two or three leagues in that direction." With that, Mermydon started to turn towards the lake, but kept an eye visible upon Geb to get confirmation that he wasn't another sniveling little tidbit after he was out of sight of his betters.

Metal tried to get Grim Rose's attention but failed. Grim Rose looked at Red. "Hey you're new aren't you?" Grim Rose asked politely ignoring Metal's annoying voice. "I am Grim Rose."

Two darkbrown eyes look out of the cave into the warming and in all honestly deadly sun. He listend well to the young female with the fire looking fur. "look here little one, I have been on the move for almost two weeks without rest, having a pack of Nixis chasing me on my own turf. I have not had the time to rest or drink properly. There is no way I could take a other day in the heat and i am used to it. This Qitari is clearly not used to the life of the sandsea so he would last even shorter." he said in a strict voice. So either the young female, that claims to have 300years of experience, comes in or she will leave without them. Atleast without himself. His body needs to rest atleast a day from the sun, drink and rest. This night? Sure no problem but not now during the reign of the day. (A question Charzard, is there really NO li
mit to powers? I mean protect them from the heat in the dessert during the day? There should be some sort of limit or there is no need for anyone but the strongest to care about the threat at all)








Geb ~~ Male ~~ Adult ~~ Currently near the coastline
As his brightgreen, almost glowing eyes registerd what the male did he reacted on pure instinct. How many times had he not caught his younger siblings as his parents threw them down a ledge they didnt want to jump down? To many to count. WAY to many to count. so quickly he took a few jumping steps to the side as the male had thrown the female bulbori towards the side of him. As he gatherd hos thick, muscular hindlegs benethe him he quickly sprang up like a tring that bursts, beeing pulled to harshly. In the air he got a hold of the somewhat smaller female, holding her with her front legs and as they hit the ground he made sure that he was the one hitting it. He feelt the ground against his back, not beeing able to keep the pain inside he gave up a small, painfull sound. He had purposly taken the entire hit from the fall, having the female bulbori land upon himself as he had caught her in the air.

"Not a bad catch for prey-kind, bulbori. What do we call you?" Mermydon asked impressed by Geb's willingness to act sacrificially on behalf of another. He watched how the land-dwellers mulled together in order to meet and greet. Another less than efficient trait he thought. Whereas his own motions and field waves produced through lateral lines broadcast only as far away as Kanakwella and Aleria. These broadcasts told them silently that he was ready to move the school East along the shelf edge, but close enough to the surface for them to breech occasionally so their over-dwelling bait could be kept an eye on. Though if Grim Rose was paying attention to his thoughts, she could sense it as easily as the kelparie mares could.

Grim rose went into the water and spiraled in the water letting the water glide over her tense body. She came out more calmer and collected. Grim Rose sat down at the edge of the water. "That is very refreshing." Grim Rose said shaking the water off of her. "But not as refreshing as a nice warm hot spring." Metal glared at her but then turned away. He then tried swimming but failed coming up out of the water. Metal huffed and Grim Rose laughed at him. She then turned to Mermydon
