The sensetive massive ears of the bulbori heard voices, not sure what they were talking about thought as the wind made it hard to tell what they were saying, not to mention the sound of waves hitting the sandy shore. he stood still on all four a while contemplating his options. He could take the safe over the unsafe and run away. Or, he could go and have a look. It did not take loong untill his curious mindset and genuinly adventure urge took over. Gathering the ciurage he had inside he jumped through some of the waving grass, landing on the shore making sand fly at all direction. The moment the bulbori saw the Zolnixi he froze stiff, laying down and not moving, as if that would help. However a massivly 0.5meter tall bulbori that is brown and green do stick out no matter if it is moving or laying still. Atleast on a bright sandy shore with yellow-ish grass dancing behind him. Except a zolnixi there seemed to be several induviduals, the front seemed like a rather massive quitari but the rest? It just looked ... weird. And why the hell were they in the water? His left ear cautiously moved forward as he looked at the gathering of creatures.

Mermydon's ears had been drawn back momentarily at Heroine, but when he looked at Kanakwella's saddened features he calmed himself and his ears returned to normal. Could it be that this adopted cousin was still unaccustomed to courtly behavior? He opted to satisfy his curiosity by relaying this little bit of knowledge to the zolnixi. "You clearly have much to learn about court manners Heroine. But let's hold our peace until we have all eaten. Share some of the fish we have taken. I am certain her majesty has meant for you to share in this bounty. And she did work hard to gather it with us." He said, implying that she should not insult her cousin by refusing to partake of it with them.

He was showing his sharpened teeth and raker teeth throughout the conversation but wasn't using them to deliberately menace her, just warn her. And with keen, bulbori eyesight, Geb could clearly see there was nothing qitari about those sea-qitari's mouth. That was a genuine predator! But that big male one hadn't noticed the bulbori's presence; or hadn't shown interest yet. While he had been talking to Heroine, he hadn't paid much attention to Grim Rose, but when she dove into the fish ball and flew right back out again, he delayed striking at the location she departed from only moments after she had departed it. She was welcome to their feast, but he wanted her to never forget that over-dwellers aren't guests in the lake, they are game!

He complemented. "Truly you are worthy of the name you bare." He smiled to her, then ignored her and the zolnixi pup for a moment to notice his future queen.

Kanakwella had a little fish gak and scales on her jaw so Mermydon used his tongue to be her napkin. Once he was satisfied, he returned to address the little zolnixi that Aleria had caught red pawed.
"Well hello little morsel, at last we finally meet face to face." He said, waiting to see how this cub would respond. The little creature had been an amusement to Mermydon the last month or so. He thought it good to finally meet and discover how so young a creature could avoid being caught off guard so long on the lake shores?

heroine looks at mermydon then rushes to get a fish and looks at kanakwella "kanakwella did you help catch the fish ?"
kanakwella looks at heroine and says "yes" then heroine went back to her spot looked back at kanakwella mermydon and aleria and said "thank you" while kanakwella looked at heroine and shook her head she then looked at mermydon "i seen that look in someones eyes before" she said (lol a typo i left out said dat)

Mermydon had allowed Heroine to come out to feed without striking as he did at Grim Rose. He used his focus on what Aleria was doing with the over-dweller she had caught, to serve as a feint so she could reach out for her fish. The little furball seemed frozen with fear. In truth he didn't want to disappoint Kanakwella any further.
When the princess did speak to him, his ear turned to her, then his head followed as he focused on her pretty face. "What look do you mean?" He asked her in response, hoping she would tell him something more.

kanakwella looked at mermydon when he said this "i mean you look just like the stallion i was spost to marry before i ran away" (ok im done for today im making a kanakwella project so i'll be working on that)

Grim rose yawned and ate the fish. She then laid down and put her head down.

Mermydon smiled a little at her comment. "I imagine so, he was my ancestor, after all. Though I guess it was only yesterday to you?" He replied to Kanakwella rhetorically. "I'm not sure how important he was to you. All I understand is that I can't send you back and therefore am bound by law and prophecy to stand in his stead." He broke off talking with the princess momentarily to check back on Aleria and the zolnixi pup. It was so stricken with terror that it was frozen where Aleria trapped it. "Aleria, let's show the nixi foal a courtesy. There is no real harm done to our store but what I made myself, we've all had our fill of plenty, the little creature hasn't breeched the water's edge on its own and the morning is getting old. Let's set it loose for today and the fish that we may be off; though if you are in the mood for zolnixi?.." He suggested to her, turning a sarcastic eye towards heroine as a personal kelparie joke. Then he closed in his wing fins and set the fish free, After that he returned to talking with the princess. "Now to attend to the business at hand." He said making a modest approach toward her person. Then gently began preening her muzzle and chin and slowly began working towards her neck where she couldn't reach on her own. He permitted her to preen him in return if she accepted. Heroine was eating happily and Grim would certainly have purred if she were able. He let them be for the moment as their activities weren't going to interfere with them preening and making ready to depart.

Grim Rose laughed. "I am glad you are happy." Grim Rose spoke to Heroine. "But I don't really care as well. So what am I to do?"

Aleria laughed "In my defence i had no idea that he was a zolnixi let alone just a pup." She released the terried ball of pink fur.
She was expecting the pup to say something....

Preening was rather an intimate matter, requiring trust of both giver and receiver. Mermydon had a great deal of practice with his family and made the most of his servicing. He certainly enjoyed breathing Kanakwella in as he worked, her fluid-like hair still had a wonderful aroma of lavender and aloe that calmed him as he worked. When he finished, he nuzzled her cheek affectionately and waited long enough to see how she would respond to his touch. He looked deeply into her eyes and wondered for a moment if he could see their unmade foals deep in there. He wanted to sigh but withstood the temptation, then turned to Aleria.

"For lack of another, would you permit me, Aleria?" He offered politely to preen her. "I may be royalty, but I'm not going to treat you uncivil. You're virtually the only subject I have to serve at the moment."

He paid little attention to anyone else for the moment, until their preening activities were through.

The nixi pup remained stock still with fear up until the stallion spoke, then it reared up a paw and looked his direction. Its eyes severally dilated from sheer terror. To this little one, kelparie were gigantic monsters! It wanted to wimper and yelp for help, but it's voice was lost!
