"If you need me please chirp or yell," Scarlet yelps as she trips over a piece of ground from the Menagarie. Getting back up Scarlet keeps mapping and trying to track the maze.

"Loki, Night. Be good while I'm away," Mrs. Mouse huffed before climbing onto August's back. Honestly, those two really were like children. She gripped her tiny paws in the shorter feather fluff near August's back, trying not to pull or damage anything. "I think I'm secure. Or hopefully anyway. But as the young ones say, you only live once!" And getting to ride a flying creature was certainly living.

~~~
"Of course!" Jay called back. "You too!" He was glad that he could still hear Scarlet. Despite the fact that they were traveling away from each other, their paths never got too far apart. Otherwise, he didn't think they would be able to call out to each other so well. As the other sounds got louder though, Jay flew a little faster. "I...I think I see sunlight! What about you guys! Do you see it too?!" he exclaimed, voice almost shrill in excitement.
"Jay I don't see it from where I'm at," Scarlet walks in the direction Jay had flown, ''hold on a second and I will try to go to you." With painstaking caution Scarlet walks toward Jay while watching and observing the maze. "Are you still okay Jay?"
Although Jay knew he should wait for Scarlet, he couldn't bring himself to. "Yeah, I'm fine! Just...hurry up!" Where the hall had been smooth tile before, the edges were starting to get rough and weather-worn. He could even feel a breeze. To think that it would be so easy to get outside. It was probably next to them the whole time.
As soon as he turned around a corner, a giant archway opened up, sunlight spilling inside. The tiles continued out in a winding path through grass and flowery fields, the area so enormous and yet clustered with trees, and paths, and more entrances and exits all around them that Jay had to stop in awe. This place was amazing!
"Jay wait up you don't know what kind of tricks this maze has," Scarlet yelps and increases her pace. She didn't know what waited beyond that corner and the first thing that came to her mind was danger. As a human it had been drilled into her head to look, observe, then decide on action. She could see the smooth tile, feel the breeze, and sense the fresh air. Using both her fox senses and her knowelage Scarlet took the corner and saw the area, "I see why you didn't want to wait."
August let out a light chuckle upon seeing the boys' antics. He unfurled both wings and glanced back at Mrs. Mouse. "Alright then, miss. Hold on tight...!" With that he took off and flew up and towards the skylight. Woah... Manageable, but not as easy as I figured... He thought as he focused on keeping his balance.
Jay flew back down to Scarlet, unable to stop from singing a little song. "See, I knew we could find the outside if we looked hard enough. Everything should be smooth sailing from here. We'll have to find the others from this side though and then lead then and then....oh! We should go back and find Hunter first. I'm not sure he was listening," Jay added with a sheepish little shrug. The hyena boy wouldn't want to miss this view though."
~~~

Mrs. Mouse let out a little cry of delight and fear. "Oh my! This is incredible!" Nothing she'd ever experienced as a human or a mouse compared, except those long ago days of swinging on a rope until she nearly went vertical in the sky. Flying though? She loved it, as much as she wanted it to end quickly. "I hope I'm not hurting your feathers holding on. I'm really afraid to fly off!"

"Let's go see if we can find Hunter," Scarlet turns around and starts tracking the hyenna. Ears erect she listens for the slightest sound of Hunter without finding any, "Maybe he went farther down?"

"That's alright, as long as you don't take off the feathers on my wings or tail!" August replied as he looked for a place to land. He found a suitable perch in the form of a ceiling beam just below the sky light and dug his talons into the rail. "Here we are."
