Scarlet smiles faintly, "That's true and also I agree with your first statement that Mrs. Mouse knows what is going on more then any of us do. I didn't find a river or anything but I marked a trail to help us get back if we get lost."

Mrs. Mouse laughed. "Considering all of our current states, I'd say that is a well-founded fear. For me, it is hawks." She shuddered at the memory, but continued on after a second, her smile still in place. "So I suppose you wouldn't want to hear a story of how the barn cat defeated the mighty wolf? No offense, my dear Gray."

"That's a good idea, Scarlet." Jay scratched his feet across the walls, higher up where he could see it. "I'll mark it some up high just in case." When he finished, he circled back around toward the way they had come. "I guess we should start back then unless there are any other ideas on how to navigate this place."

"Yes please!" LOki nodded.

NIghts ears perked a little but he "sleeping"

"There might be just give me a few minutes please," At that Scarlet scappers off back in the other direction and presses her ear to the wall, "try listening to walls to see if they move or if we can hear other moving on the other side of the wall." Her dark red ear listens for anything she can hear from the scuffling of paws to the quietest sounds.

Mrs. Mouse chuckled at her audience's response. She was beginning to suspect that Night wasn't asleep at all, but just didn't want to participate in the conversation. "I suppose we will just have to trust that our other friends are doing alright for another few minutes then. She closed her eyes as she began her new tale, this one far more from her own imagination than from the fables she grew up with.

"Ah, that's a good idea!" Jay exclaimed. His current form wasn't much for listening, but he hoped around the other corner as well, trying to find some indication of life. "Do you think there are other animals trying to make the same journey that we are? You'd think they'd leave some kind of evidence behind if they were." Jay ruffled his feathers before giving up. "Ugh, I don't think there's anything to find over here. I hope that other path is looking better, Scarlet."

"Jay do you want to know the secret of listening," Scarlet answers without waiting for an answer, "pacientce, quiet, and accually listening for more then two seconds." Taking a deep breath Scarlet tries to focus on her hearing for any sound however quiet. Taking another deep breath she focuses on what she can smell wheather the tracks are old or fresh. She does the same with sensing other animals.

Loki listened attentively.

NIght was snoring. But his ears stayed up. It was astonishing how realistic he could be when he wanted to ignore talking.

The story was how to beat a wolf, but any story was a story, and Grey wouldn't complain. She listened and watched intently. For any reader that gets carried away with books, you might know the feeling of being woken from a good dream when you either finish/stop the story or someone interrupts.

Hunter was trying to be quiet. And humming the songs of 'The Sound of Music' is not exactly quiet...but he couldn't help himself.

Scarlet comes back after a while, "I don't know abouy you but I didn't hear anything." Her ears droop slightly as does her tail. Not only was she disappointed but she was getting a massive headache from straining her ears.
