The girl raises an eyebrow in amusement, stifling a laugh before schooling her features into something more serious and a tad irritated. "He's not here--he just left earlier. Quite inconsiderately, I might add," she grumbles as she finishes bottling the liquid and slides it across the desk to the man. "That'll be ten silvers, or a gold if you've got one."
"What did you need to see him for? There's nothing he can do that I can't," she adds, somewhat indignantly. "Oh, or did he start making something and tell you to come back later when it was finished?"
The old man chuckles as he counts out the coins to pay his order. "Like I said, there's always something going on," he remarks conspiratorially to you.
"That's enough, Mister Burns," the girl says, somewhat sternly, though not seriously so. "I'll not have you spreading any rumours about him or me, thank you very much."
He snorts, gathering his things. "Well, you can't hardly expect them not to form one way or another. Anyway, my thanks, expect to be seeing me again next week--and try not to keep me waiting next time." With that and a waved goodbye, he heads out, leaving the two of you alone in the shop.

Livvy snaps her fingers. "Ah, so that's his name. Well, long story short he said, and I quote, he'd "pay me a hefty sum" if I came along for his little adventure. Seeing as I very much am currently on an exploration journey....well." She shrugs. "Had to finish something for someone else first though, I was at least hoping he'd wait around. Sticking around to laugh and say it was all a grand joke is much more reasonable then running off."

As you make your way toward town, ducking beneath meager the shelter of roofs and awnings, you see more than a few people already out and about despite the rain, presumably due to the occasion. Most pay you no heed on their way to the town center, though more than a few of you stop and stare at you as you pass by, and you catch quite a few whispers.
"Who's that? I've never seen her before..."
"It's that lady from the lake--what's she doing all the way out here?"
"It can't be, I didn't think she could leave the lake--"
"I've heard they'll turn you into a fish if you meet their gaze--quick, look away!"
"Don't be silly, the fishermen say she's never done a thing to them."
"Well, she looks like she could..."

As you near the town center, the bell chimes again. Around you, people are rushing to set up makeshift awnings as the town's craftsmen and artisans hurry to finish setting up their stalls before the traders arrive. Though you catch sight of several people looking around eagerly with their hands already clutching pouches of coins, not everyone is here to do business: some, like you, are just here to browse and satisfy their curiosity.

She frowns, confused. "His little adventure...? Who are you--oh!" she exclaims suddenly, clapping her hands in realization. "Oh, so that's what he was talking about!" She reaches her hand into a pocket concealed within the folds of her skirt and withdraws a small parcel, which she hands to you. "Couldn't even be bothered to properly explain anything, as usual," she grumbles. "Go on, open it. I'd love to know his excuse this time--for throwing this at me, saying 'I've got someone who'll be coming by soon', and leaving me to take over his shift because he says he's got something important to attend to, as always. And, yes, that is his name--it's one half of this shop's name, if you hadn't noticed."

"Ah, that makes sense. Didn't want to assume- half the time you'll have a shop called Jerry's or something and the person who owns it is named Dave." Livvy chuckles, before quickly undoing the parcel. She's just as curious to know what's up, seing as apparently now she's going to chase after a cat shifter dude she's known for less then an hour.

I try my best to shield the sides of my face with my hair, although that probably did nothing with the horns sticking out from my skull. I pull off to the side, trying to find somewhere to sit while I wait for the traders to roll in. The last thing I wanted was to make myself more known than I already am to those few people, so best bet is to hide away somewhere and make myself look preoccupied fidgeting with the seams of my clothes.

(hello again my very creative acquaintance i swear i have a workable character this time lmao)

Basic
Name
Simply named "Nix", but due to her talents in specific arts she has earned the nickname 'Ditto'.

Gender/Pronouns
Feminine

Age
19

General Appearance
She... honestly looks like a normal humanoid girl, for the most part, average-ish height, standard and healthy body type, etc, except for the parts that aren't "normal". She has a pair of multi-color horns akin to what a good ol' winged lizard would have, as well as her hair being at least mostly every main color the human eye can see, and it constantly changes where the colors are as well. She has minor bits of various creatures, including the feathers of birds, and bits of scales from reptiles, and a sort of tail that's very much chimera-ish, if you get what I mean. Plus, she acts quite animalish at times. She can't help it, man.

Starting Location
Perell

Personality
Nix loves to entertain and is quite flamboyant at times. She's bouncy and is quite the artist at times too. While that may be a major strength, her willingness to bond, and her general utility, it may also be a major weakness. Nix can be too trusting at times or may sprout the wrong set of parts due to panic. Thankfully, if she's left alone or with another person and has her sketchpad on her, she can calm down rather quickly.

Backstory
(I'll DM you her story once I come up with something. i'm a sleepy girl rn why am i up rn)

Likes
Colorful things!
People!
Exploring! Muahahaha!

Dislikes
During her flamboyant state, specifically as a bird, she despises being touched.
She can't take non-constructive criticism about her shifts well. In fact, she gets sad :(
Being treated as merely an animal is another one here too.

Fears
This fear is at the back of her head, but it's still there nonetheless. She's afraid of something going wrong during a transformation, rendering her an abomination, just a blob and a mess that would mean her demise. And by "blob" think of those stereotypical scenes movies like to do with teleportation machines; something like a fly or a bird manages to sneak in just as the door closes.

Ambitions/Dreams
(What are your character's goals and aspirations in the beginning of the story, big or small? This may change later in the RPG.)

Biggest Flaw
Contrary to popular belief, Nix cannot change whenever she needs to at all times. It tends to scale with her current state. Example being, if she's sick or wounded, she won't be able to change as well as if she were in perfect health.

Other

~

Attributes
(See Skills post. You have 10 points to allocate however you'd like. These stack with the levels you automatically gain from your choice of starting location, so don't include those)

Strength - 0

Intelligence - 0

Constitution - 0

Dexterity - 2

Agility - 3

Observation - 2

Charisma - 3

~

Traits
(Nope, no extra gimmicks here, unless you can come up with one. I'm open to suggestions!

Enhancements
(Choose one!)
- Vision -

Abilities
- Shapeshift into another (preferably smaller) creature's form - can be an actual animal or a mythical/made-up one, if so just describe it, only one- Shift your appearance into that of another being of similar appearance - can turn into people you have seen or make minor adjustments to your own appearance (e.g. appear taller, different hair color, hide some of your features, etc.)

Neutral Traits
- Sneeze when in contact with magic
- No reflection (When in the viewing of a mirror, Nix's "reflection" is a very misty sort of way. Is it perhaps caused by her constant changing?)

Disadvantages
- Abilities may trigger randomly - often upon sneezing or when panicking, etc.

Don't forget to read the rules one more time first (Rule 5 specifically :P), but otherwise looks great!

The parcel is tied with a knot in twine, which comes apart easily with the lightest tug. Whatever's inside is mostly rectangular with a few bumps, and just as you begin to unwrap the pale grey paper, a small charm slides out and drops into your hand. There's a small loop at the top, possibly for attaching it to a bracelet or something of the sort, though it's not connected to any such thing at the moment. It's somewhat heavy and cool, looking and feeling as though it's made out of metal, but you don't feel the burning, itchy sensation that you normally do when you touch metal--so perhaps it's not, or just not pure.

There's three other things in the parcel, you discover after unwrapping it fully: two other small packages, each wrapped individually--one in blue, the other in pink--and a note. The paper that the note's written on is rather crinkled, as if it's been crumpled up and smoothed out multiple times, but it's not folded, so you can read it easily.

Dear Traveler, it reads in an elegant script,
I apologize that I wasn't able tell you this in person--I trust that my dear partner will ensure that this finds you instead. Please do show this letter to her as well (the other side of it, that is, though she may also read this side if she wants) and give her my sincerest apologies as well for not properly informing her before I departed.

As for the request I wanted to make of you, it's quite simple: I need these two packages delivered. It's their recipients who may pose more of a complication. The first goes by the name of Ai, and can be found in the town of Erran--if you're not familiar with, it's about a few days' journey east of here--and should be given the blue package. My partner can tell you more about the second--she'll know who I'm talking about (if she refuses, tell her I'll get her a new grimoire when I come back)--last I heard, they had been sighted in the woods near the Black Lake.

You are not to let either of them know that it was I who sent you to give them these--but you must find a way to leave each one in their possession one way or another.

Your reward will be 10 gold coins, or three favours from me; you may choose whichever you prefer or negotiate for something different if you wish, though I will accept a negotiation only if I believe the task has been satisfactorily completed.

I may have more information to provide to you at a later time if things develop in such a way--that is, if you choose to accept the task. It should not be too dangerous, but it will be tricky. Should you come into any danger, I will certainly offer you compensation. If you do not wish to take this up, then you may simply leave this and be on your way without concerns.

Either way, best of fortune on your travels, and don't forget to ring the gate bell before you depart.

The last sentence makes sense, at least--the western road heading out of town is presided over by a small, unlocked gate with a bell hanging over it. It's said that ringing the bell on your way past is good luck, ensuring safe travels and fair weather until another person comes along to ring it.
But other than that, there's no signature, and neither an explanation for the cat charm nor one for his absence. And, particularly oddly, the other side of the paper seems to have nothing at all written on it.

The girl, whom in the meantime has been idly flipping a coin from finger to finger and trying not to look too interested, looks up at you once you're done reading. "So, care to share anything?"
