The start/end times make no difference to me. it is all automated at this point. =P
I have to just run a script at the end to process the prizes, but that isn't a big deal at all and can obviously be ran at any point after the round ends.
The times picked are what I think are ideal for the bulk of the Site's contest participants. I will take some of this feedback in mind and see what I can do come Spring-time.

to my knowledge, the more wins you rack up, the harder the difficulty you unlock
edit: so just keep doing ai fights - and win them - to unlock higher tiers

Yeah, I kind of assumed that, but do you know how many points are needed for each tier?

600 for 1st tier, 1200 for 2nd, 1800 for 3rd, 2400 for 4th, 3000 for 5th, 3200 for 6th

I didn't see a section about what happens to unused fressence and unfinished sculptures in the information packet. Is. there a reason for this?

Unused frost essences and all other fest materials (tokens, Snow Wars stuff, etc.) will be removed after fest ends and will not be usable in future fests.
For unfinished sculptures, it varies every fest. There may be criteria where incomplete sculptures may be harvested for you. We won't know 'till Krin makes an announcement as the fest is about to end. It's best to assume there won't be anything and just do the best you can to get them finished.

It was brought to my attention that some of the Tundra Nomad Back Avatar Items were not dropping off of the Festival Zone Named. I have added these missing items to the Named drop tables.
Since the Festival Zone closes in a couple of days, I also added these missing items to the Festival Shop where they can be purchased directly w/ Frost Tokens.
