Krin, im not sure if others have asked this but in your first post you say:

There are also Leaderboard Rankings for Player Rating and AI Rating and those who place on these Leaderboards will receive various prizes and Titles. There will be two ranking periods for Snow Wars this festival. The first will end after January 7th.

But in snow wars it says:
Leaderboard Ends After 1/24/2021.

This is typically how things go one resets around the 7th and the second ends later in the month. Which is wrong? Is it only one this year?

The Snow Wars page is correct.

The Overview text was not updated from last year. I have fixed it.

Krin i just had a thought if boards started at 12am, 12pm and 6am in whatever order. This would benefit those not in the us timezones in a way that we havent really seen before. 2 of the contests starting at noon means i need to either go to bed early which isn't easy with insomnia or stay awake till after 5am when they start. Most of the time im starting to feel ready to sleep at that time. This means the first half day of boards is pretty much a wipe.

If one of the boards started at 12am instead of noon. It would translate to daytime in these countries:
Australia
New Zealand
England
Ireland
Scotland
France
India
Russia
Nepal
China
Japan
Indonesia
Africa

And many others. the map of time zones i found doesnt have all the countries. Starting at noon for 2 of the boards means daytime for:
Canada
America
South America
Mexico

I know many people have all 3 boards start at times when they need to be sleeping or are sleeping and cannot play till they finish work thus also missing that first half day. Anyways just an idea i had

those in the aus timezone would really benefit yes. I would be down with a 6pm start too if that fits with our us friends better that would be day time in more countries still

As a Canadian who has to work for a living, 6pm would be a great option for me, and I definitely would advocate for a 12am option for those not living in North and South America. I'm honestly not sure how many people actually benefit from 12pm starts. I'd think most people would be sleeping, at work, or at school most times of the year at 12pm Sylestia time. I could be wrong, but yeah, I'd definitely be down for switching at least one start time to either 6pm or 12am (or both?).

In my opinion, the end times are more important and you're not going to be able to make everyone happy. For me, the contests always end at 1am. I'm usually in bed by nine my time. So if you want to get critical.. :lets that trail off.: In other words, I think things are fine as they are and considering it's a game and real life has to be worked around, it's impossible to take all of that into consideration. People work different shifts, different time zones.. I do what I can and move on and don't dwell on it. It's just part of life. And what Mika said.. the 12pm thing doesn't really benefit anyone stateside because everyone is at work or in school.

Shadow is right that not everyone can be accommodated. I live in the US but if the boards start at 12am, 6am, or 12pm doesn't matter to me. I usually go to sleep about 12am, wake up at 5am and leave for work about 6:15 am, get home from work about 4:30pm, then take care of pets, fix supper for my family, cleanup, and maybe about 6:30pm or 7pm I can get on the game until 12am. So I only get 5 to 6 hours a day on the game at best. It is the same for most of the players on Sylestia. Real life takes priority over the game.

I think Krin should just do what works best for him, since he is the one who makes everything work on this game. And after all, he also has real life things to deal with. He goes out of his way to make things better for us on here and we should try to make his life a bit easier by not being too nit-picky or asking for changes that mainly benefit a few players instead of the majority. Of course, this is just my opinion.

While it'd be nice to be able to have different start times for others timezones, Krin is the one who is running it so I think it's completely fair for Krin to decide what those times are so it works for him, regardless of how it works for some of us. It'd be one thing for it to be a few hours difference but you're asking about a minimal 6 hour difference if not 12 hour difference. And with all the other things going on, I don't think it'd be fair to expect Krin to alter their schedule so much to start contests differently ^^
